I could certainly tell she was using me.

I mean, I wasn't dumb, she literally said that her secret weapon was me, and that I had potential with my magic, then proceeded to tell me she was taking me to the School for Evil and to not tell this to anyone. And then there was the Ever part.

"What's even an Ever?" I asked along the way. She was certainly a fast walker, she probably didn't even need the cane.

"An Ever is someone who belongs to the School for Good. You certainly do."

"Then why are you taking me to your school then? You probably don't want your villains to get softer, after all, you haven't won in over two hundred years." She stopped all of a sudden, and I suddenly felt pressure on my neck. Her hand was pointed in my direction, curved as if it were around my throat.

"That is NOT my fault! And certainly not my students either, at least not completely. NEVER question it again! Do you understand?" she yelled.

"Yes." I gasped, in need of air.

"Great. Then let's keep moving. You don't want to meet these woods at night." She said, whilst releasing the grip over my throat. I took a deep breath before I kept walking, and after a while I engaged in conversation again.

"How do you even know I'm an Ever?"

"Apart from the way you act? The dress. You say you have no idea where it came from, I say this world gave you what was most appropriate for you."

"But isn't black the typical colour of evil?" Lady Lesso delayed her answer.

"Yes. But the butterflies..."

"Could mean that there's more to me than just good or evil. Could mean I'm in the middle."

"We don't do middle here. There are no grey areas. You are either good or evil and that's the end of it."

"But I'm not from here..."

"Then you will learn our ways. We are nearly there. I will need you to act the most evil you can. Professor Dovey, the Dean of the School for Good, will try to convince us both you belong with her. She'll see that dress and fight for you because she thinks she'll be doing you a favor. Don't listen to her. She'll try to make you a helpless stupid princess."

"Why would anyone want to be that?"

"Exactly my point. Keep that behavior up and you might be able to convince her." she said before turning left for the last time. "Here we are."

In the distance stood two majestic and enormous castles. One of them was gold and colorful, it screamed joy. The other one was surrounded by a dark cloud and the sky darkened around it. It was completely black and had a more gothic style that I completely loved. The woman moved her finger around and opened a wooden door to let us inside the school premises. There was a big lake we had to go around before we got to some stairs that lead us to the evil part of the bridge that united both schools. As we were about to go inside, the doors opened and a group of individuals erupted from it, leaded by a woman wearing an enormous mint gown.

"Where in heavens have you been, Lesso? We had a meeting an hour ago and you didn't show up!" she started questioning. Then, she took a look at me and got surprised. "And who is this girl that accompanies you?  She's not your usual type of companion."

"I'd say non of it is your business, Professor Dovey, but as a matter of fact, this time it is. I was recruiting my final teacher for this year's course. And also the last minute student, Sofía Alvarez."

"But-but-. She is an Ev-"

"If you dare call me an Ever, I'll make sure it's the last time you ever speak." I threatened her. Oh, I was liking the acting thing. The woman shut her mouth, and mumbled something for herself. Then she dared say.
