Lady Lesso's POV:
Laying there in bed with Sofía resting on top of me... God, it shouldn't feel this nice. Time was still, her magic giving us all the time we needed. The red lingerie lay on the floor nearby with my own underwear, though it almost hurt to take it off her. She was just... amazing, in every sense of the word. Of course, I understood why she wasn't in the mood yesterday, even if it did take me by surprise, but it had been a tough day. I didn't actually expect her to do this. Now, she had her eyes closed for a second, breathing heavily after our encounter. She looked so cute when she cuddled against me, even when minutes ago I had her screaming my name, looking as hot as ever.
I gently stroked her back, feeling the warmth of her skin against mine. I couldn't help but smirk softly as I watched her, her face relaxed. My mind wandered back to our first meeting. That scared but daring woman I found in the woods, lost, yet her resolve untouched. Who would have thought that we would end up here?
I continued to caress her gently, my fingers tracing lazy patterns on her back. The room was filled with a comfortable silence. I cherished these moments, the quiet after the storm, where we could simply be together without any pretenses or expectations.
It had been different with Dovey. We had already known each other for long before we became lovers. And even if we shared that connection, I messed it up. I left her because I messed it up. I started overanalyzing my feelings for her and ended up with a conclusion that I couldn't afford. But I wasn't about to make the same mistake with Sofía.
"I could stay like this forever," she suddenly murmured against my skin.
"Well, thanks to your magic, we practically can," I teased, earning a soft chuckle from her.
Sofía shifted slightly, her eyes still closed but a smile playing on her lips. "True," she admitted. "But we can't hide from the world forever."
I sighed, knowing she was right. Responsibilities awaited us both, and we couldn't ignore them indefinitely. But for now, it was just us.
"I was just thinking," I began, my voice barely above a whisper, "about how far we've come since that day in the woods."
Sofía chuckled, her eyes meeting mine. "You mean the day you scared the living shit out of me?"
I laughed. "Yes, that day. You were so brave, standing your ground despite being so lost and vulnerable."
She smiled, her fingers tracing a path along my collarbone. "And you were so intimidating, yet there was something about you that made me feel... safe."
I stroked her hair, tucking a loose strand behind her ear. "I'm glad I found you that day."
"I'm glad you found me too"
We fell into a comfortable silence, but suddenly she spoke again.
"I don't want to fight," she started. "But there's something more we didn't discuss yesterday."
I looked at her, a slight furrow forming between my brows. "What is it?"
"Did you really have to say that dating between Evers and Nevers was... repulsive?" she asked. "I know you have to keep appearances, but it made me feel... out of place. And I'm pretty sure I saw Rissa struggling with the idea, too."
I froze for a moment, caught off guard. Slowly, I withdrew my hand from her back and shifted to look at her, searching her eyes for any hint of hurt or disappointment. The truth was, my comment about dating between Evers and Nevers had been more than just about appearances; it had stemmed from years of conditioning and prejudice that had been taught to me ever since I came to the School. I... kind of did still find it repulsive to see, even if I had broken that rule myself before. Though I wasn't sure if it counted with Sofía, after all, she was also Evil. But I couldn't tell her all that.
