Lady Lesso's POV:
Sofía was over the moon when she discovered the secret cloud stairs that led to the Headmaster's tower. I had to admit that even though I didn't show it, her enthusiasm was kind of contagious, how she got so excited with everything our world had to show her. As Clarissa knocked on the door, no one answered, so we decided to come in anyway. In there, the Headmaster was chatting with Sophie and that other Reader.
"What is the one thing that Evil can never have, that Good can never do without?" was saying the man. He saw us over the girls shoulders but didn't say anything about it. We stood there in silence whilst he finished his conversation.
"Oh, I know. Manners. A castle. Amazing hair. A horse." was saying Sophie. I rolled my eyes at the stupidity of the answers.
"True love." interrupted the other Reader. Dovey seemed pleased.
"Which is traditionally manifested in a kiss." added the Storian. Sofía started looking around, trying to figure out where did that voice come from. But I had to admit it myself, the Storian's voice had sounded weird. Like, duplicated.
"So you're saying... I can't believe I'm actually saying this. If Sophie were to kiss her true love, that would prove Quilly over there that you were wrong about us? " asked the Reader.
"If one from School of Evil won true love's kiss, it would change everything." answered the Headmaster.
"That's fucking ridiculous." said Sofía without being able to contain herself. The two girls turned around, surprised to see us there. They hadn't realized when we came in. "Like, why can't Evil find their true love? It's not as if they don't have feelings. Why is that only reserved to Good? Why would a kiss change things?"
"Because, Sofía, it has never happened before. It's not something common, for Evil to find a true pair. Why are you so interested in it anyways?" he asked, like knowing the answer. The girl stood silent for a second longer than she should have to give a convincing answer.
"Because I think things around here need to change. And it's time someone spoke about it."
"Thank you." said the Reader from the School for Good. "I totally agree." Now Dovey was certainly concerned about her new student.
"We'll talk about it later Sofía, that's one of the reasons I called you three up here." he looked at Sophie and asked: "Was I clear enough?"
"So if I find my true love, I could stay and switch schools?"
"Sophie." said the other girl. She clearly didn't want to stay.
"This is all I've ever wanted, Aggie. I can't go back to Gavaldon. Not to my old life. I will never get this chance again. Please let me do this." I remembered that feeling. I had always known, since I was little, that I wasn't supposed to be in that place. That I was meant for more.
"I'll think about it." answered her friend.
"Excellent. Well, I guess somebody better go find herself a prince to kiss. And close the door when you go, I need to have a word with these three."
"But remember, dear Reader, no kiss comes without its price." said the Storian, again, duplicated.
When the girls were gone, the Headmaster looked at us.
"You have no idea why you're here, right?" he said. Not one of us responded. "I would have thought, Lady Lesso, that at least you would, since in the end, you are the one who brought her here and met her first." he added. Fuck, this was all about her, was it? I should have known he would find out.
"I wasn't sure about it, but I might have suspected it." I lied.
"Well, I think we owe Professor Dovey here a complete explanation of the facts." he said. "Shall you? Or do I tell her myself."
