Like Everything Glows
"It is what I'm here for, sweetheart."
_____________________________________Blue walked out of the hospital along with Ethan and the rest of their friends, a long, tiring yet fulfilling day of work being put behind them as they all made their way to the carpark.
It had been a few days since Sienna and Danny had gotten engaged, and all of them were in high spirits, already having plenty of ideas and planning for the upcoming wedding, the next ones out of their big friend group to get hitched. It was always a bittersweet feeling to see each one of them moving to the next stage of their lives no matter what path they took in both their personal and professional lives.
"I volunteer to be the emcee for the night!" Bryce said with raised hands. "Carrick was great in Blue and Ethan's wedding, but I am where the true fun is at."
"Spoken like a true meathead." Jackie replied. "You'll probably only pester the guests to laugh at your extremely unfunny jokes."
"You see kids, there is always gonna be a hater in your life, and that's alright." Bryce responded, making them all chuckle with a roll of their eyes.
"Now, now there is plenty of time to decide all that." Sienna said with a light laugh. "Danny and I are still processing it all, let alone having to start with all the wedding planning."
"You guys have plenty of time, don't worry." Blue smiled, as all of the friends bid their goodbyes for the night and went their own way home.
As Blue and Ethan made their way to their car, the former felt an all too familiar chill run up her spine. She stopped in her tracks immediately, whipping her head around, her emeralds roaming every inch of the carpark to see what in the world was making her feel this way for the past few weeks. If it had been an one-time thing, she would have turned a blind eye to the feeling, but it had been such a recurring feeling and she had seen and gone through enough to be less than careful about it.
"Rookie?"
Blue heard her husband's voice, and she let out the breath she was holding, rushing to Ethan's side hoping to feel the sense of safety she always felt with him. Almost instantly, the eerie feeling of someone watching her disappeared, and she gripped Ethan's arm.
"Hey, everything alright?" Ethan asked, seeing the light bout of trepidation on her face, and the way she was gripping onto his arm had him concerned.
"Y-yeah." Blue let out after a moment, not wanting to worry her husband, who was already protective of her, and having him worked up over a mere feeling was not something that she was keen on doing."
"Are you sure?" he asked again, to which she nodded in response with a smile that did not convince Ethan.
"I am, let's get home it's been a long day and I just want to hit the hay." Blue told him.
Ethan eyed her for a moment before nodding and driving them both home.

Back in their apartment, Blue and Ethan had had a light dinner and were getting ready for bed.
Ethan observed his wife as she walked about in the threshold of their bedroom, doing her night routine, so lost in her thoughts that she almost tripped over Jenner who strolled into the room to join them for the night.
"Sweetheart, what's going on?" Ethan asked, stopping Blue in her tracks as she finished applying the last of her skincare.
"What do you mean?" she asked, having an inkling that he was referring to her dazed state earlier.
