Chapter 18

Lucas's Pov
...

It had been a few hours since we had lunch and now it was nightime. Honestly it was really good having lunch with family after a really long time

Everybody complimented Amika's Pasta even dad who is very particular with his pasta

I was kinda sad that I wasn't there to say bye to Lila to boarding school, I wonder when she would be coming back

Or maybe I could visit her one of these days . I need to find out more from Mom and Dad

Myra was explaining to me how everybody now knew who her "mommy" was. When I asked Mom she was pleasantly surprised judging from her expression

"Oh, I see dear and why is she your mommy..."My mom asked Myra
"Because she does mommy stuff for me..."
My mom laughed
"But she's not my real mommy..."Myra added
Then she left to go and play with her cousins..
"When are you going to tell her about her real mother..?"My mom asked
"When she has atleast matured a little more.."
"That's a wise decision son..."
"Thanks mom..."
"Hey mom, Lucas..."Loren said
"Oh and Amika had something for you in the backyard by the pool, I'm going to put something for the kids to watch, bye..." She rushed out

I wonder what she had for me
...

I made my way to the pool as I found little white petals on the way there, scattered in a line

Whatever this suprise was...it was really exciting me

I saw Amika standing by the pool, in a pretty dress, her hair was tied in a bun

She looked so ethereal....like an angel

Her back was facing mine, when I finally approached her, she seemed to notice that I got here...

Without racing me, she handed a note to me....with
"Read it...." she said

My heart suddenly started racing as I opened the folded piece of paper...It has a really long note and it was written in a beautiful handwriting...

Lucas...ever since I met you, I knew you were special, even though you forgot who I was after your accident, and had a little misunderstanding, but we cleared that up. Fast forward, I moved in with you and Myra,  which was one of the best decisions I had made since opening the restaurant. I bonded with the two of you, with Myra considering me as her mother which I honestly didn't mind  infact I really loved the fact that she wanted to call me her mother. On your part Lucas, I didn't know what I felt for you, they were some confusing feelings which I didn't want to put false hope in. Now that I know what I'm feeling for you, I'd like you to know, that...that I really like you alot Lucas,  really so much, I know I said I wanted to take things a little bit slower but now I'm sure of what I want....

Will you be my boyfriend....?

Lucas couldn't help but smile at ghe letter which was written by the girl he had come to like so much in these past few weeks

He went to her and carried her up in his arms while spinning her..
"Yes....Yes....a thousand times yes...." Lucas said while spinning a giggling Amika

He put her down and looked at her
" I'm so happy that we can finally be together...., I promise I won't do anything to intentionally break your heart...." He said while looking deeply into her eyes

He leaned in to kiss her when suddenly her heard cheers from the pool.....

His family now knew that they were lying from the begginning

He looked down at Amika to see her reaction, but she was just smiling at them....

"I knew she would be able to pull off the proposal...." Lena said
" That is because you helped her plan it...." Loren said
" I know, but still I just knew she would...."
" When's the wedding..?" Mason said
