Lena and Loren had been gone for a while when suddenly I felt two hands covering my eyes "Hmm.....I wonder who this could be..." I said in fake suprise knowing that it was Myra And for sure, I heard little giggles coming from behind me... But it was definitely a huge mistake
"Ice Cream!!.." "Chocolate Cake!!..." "Chicken Wings and Donuts..." "Chocolate Pizza..."
Bryce came beside me and ruffled Julian's hair, and whispered so only I could hear....
"You definitely shouldn't have given them the option to choose..." He said while laughing
"For sure..." "Guys, you can't have candy for lunch..." Bryce said while carrying Myra and putting her on his neck "Whyyy...? The kids said "Because candy is only for dessert....now let's see better options for what you can have for lunch.." "Maybe we could order.?..." Bryce said "Well, Amika said that I shouldn't get takeout for the kids, that her and Lena would be home by lunch..." "But they're not home yet,I just got off the phone with Lena, she said they stopped by another shop so they'd be home a little later. She did say we have to cook for them..." "Well it seems our next destination is the kitchen
... 1:50am The kitchen
We were currently in the kitchen figuring out what to cook for the kids, but each meal we proposed, they blatantly refused....
So I just decided to cook pasta for the kids while Bryce kept them busy
Hmmm,it has been a while since I really cooked..so you wash the pasta....wait no, that's for rice....
I just grabbed a pot of cold water and put it over the stove....I looked over at the instructions at the back and they said Step 1. Put a pot of water on the stove and let it boil Step 2. Add the pasta in with some salt and a little oil of your choice Step 3. Boil and occasionally stir pasta for 8 to 10 minutes Step 4.Serve and enjoy with sauce of your choice
Hmm, that seems easy enough..I checked to see if the water was hot enough for me to put the pasta in. I added the pasta in and added the salt and oil along with it....
I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket, and it was Amika calling... "Hey Babe, how are things going with the kids?..." Amika said "Better than I expected, I'm cooking lunch for them right now..." "Wow, you cooking after so long, don't burn the kitchen down... I thought Maria would cook lunch" Amika joked "Haha, very funny..she had to leave early, she had an emergency ." "Oh, okay.." "What are you cooking?.." "Pasta and I was meaning to ask you, what should I add to the pasta, after it's done, it says add sauce of your choice, but I'm not sure what sauce to add..." "There's ready to heat pasta sauce in the fridge, and there's some leftover chicken in the fridge you can reheat that in the microwave...." "And make sure you don't overdo the portions, not too much and also not to little.., if you want it to be easier, just use the measuring cup in the top drawer, add 4 and a half cups for Nicholas and Julian, then 3 and a half for Myra, and for the sides, just chicken or a fruit....and no carbonated drinks...and most importantly, don't burn the food" Amika continued as I began to laugh "Did I say something funny?..."Amika said confusedly "Nope, I'm just wondering how lucky I got to have you, you practically know Myra and my sister's kids way more than I do..." "It's just food, and you're pretty great too, besides you weren't cooking for Myra, I've been cooking for her, for nearly 6 months..." "Well, you're still pretty amazing..." "Noted, but I have to go, byee and don't forget my instructions...."she said while laughing "Bye, love you and I won't, don't worry..." Then I ended the call
I went to the living room and found Bryce playing snakes and ladders with the kids "I didn't know you could play snakes and ladders Myra...". "Uncle Bryce taught me how..." "Dad ,Julian is cheating, he moved his piece ten steps when he rolled a 5..."Nicholas said "Did not..." Julian said "I saw you too Julian..." Bryce said "Daddy?.."Myra said "Yes Myra?..." "Why is there smoke coming from the kitchen?.."
Oh no
I quickly ran to the kitchen and I saw the pasta water falling onto the stove...
I must've forgotten to remove the lid....
I removed the lid and the pasta looked good, "Is it burnt?..."Bryce asked "Nope, it's actually not burnt at all.."
Until I scraped the bottom and I saw that that the bottom was a dark brown....
I guess I'd forgotten the most important rule.... don't burn the food.....
...
Good news is I managed to serve all three kids the amounts Amika told me to serve them
Bad news is, they had a little burnt after taste, so Bryce offered to warm the pasta sauce while I re-heated the chicken in the microwave....and it actually looked pretty decent when everything was put together

After Bryce and I sat on the living room couch, we remembered that we'd forgotten to make food for ourselves "Just order something....I do not have the mind to cook again...." "I was hoping you'd say that..."
Luckily the kids didn't seem to notice that the food was burnt, so I guess we had a job well done...
They must be really hungry then...
Withing about 15 minutes or so, our food had arrived at the door and Bryce went to get it....

Immediately Bryce gave me my food,I started to devour it...I turned on the TV and there was F1 on, so we decided to keep it on...
Bryce immediately joined me on the couch, and tossed me a can of Sprite, while he had a coke "I thought you were supposed to be on a diet or something..." I joked to Bryce "Get out...".He said
After we'd absolutely demolished our food, lying on the couch like over-inflated balls, the kids came over to us like they were plotting the takeover of a country...
"Dad, Uncle Lucas, you said that if we finished all our food.....you'd give us candy...."Nicholas said "I don't remember saying that...." Bryce said "You did say that....." Julian and Myra said "And if you don't , we'll tell mommy and auntie Amika, that you burnt our food..."
So that's why they didn't mention it being burnt.....
"Okay fine, but you must promise to not your mom..." "We promise..." "Come on, first to the kitchen gets the most candy..."Bryce said
