Jude's POV:I stood outside the principal's office lost in my own thoughts, trying to calm my nerves. I had been waiting for what felt like ages when suddenly I felt a jolt as someone tackled me out of nowhere. My heart leaped into my throat and I flinched instinctively, startled by the unexpected collision.
I blinked rapidly trying to gather my bearings. The person who had bumped into me stood before me, hopping from foot to foot as if the collision hadn't fazed her at all. She looked vaguely familiar, though I couldn't place her right away.
I glanced at her, taking in her bright eyes and infectious smile, and then it clicked. I had seen her before at the hospital. She was that sweet and gentle lady with Taehyung. It felt like anyone associated with him inevitably brought trouble.
I shifted awkwardly trying to return her smile, though it felt strange. What exactly was so good here? Hadn't Taehyung just beaten someone senseless not too long ago? The contrast between her sunny disposition and the storm that seemed to follow Taehyung around was... confusing. To say the least.
"Hi." I managed to utter, feeling more than a little embarrassed at my earlier reaction.
"Hey." she replied. Her voice was just as sweet as her smile. There was an effortless kindness to her.
I stood there for a moment, trying to wrap my head around the fact that this girl-someone who was apparently connected to Taehyung-was actually so sweet. It seemed impossible. How could anyone spend time around him and not lose themselves in the chaos and madness that he seemed to drag with him wherever he went?
Before I could dwell too much on the thought, Taehyung's voice interrupted my train of thought. "Okay Sakura, I think you should head back." he said as he took my hand in his own. The gesture startled me more than I cared to admit. "I'll hang out with them."
Sakura sighed but nodded in agreement. She didn't seem bothered by the sudden dismissal. "Okay, don't be late." she chimed before flashing me another friendly smile.
"Bye," she added cheerfully and with that, she was off, dashing down the hall like a burst of sunshine in an otherwise dreary day.
My attention shifted back to our group.
"First of all, why did you beat that boy?" Alex stood before Taehyung with arms crossed and brows furrowed.
However, Taehyung was clearly uninterested in offering a polite explanation. He sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes. "He deserves it." he said flatly, his jaw tightening with bare anger. The flicker of rage in his eyes was unmistakable.
