Jude's POV:Over the past two weeks, Taehyung had showered me with an unprecedented level of sweetness like a decadent chocolate ice cream dipped in rich chocolate syrup.
His gestures ranged from bringing me my favorite tulips to picking me up from home for college, dropping me off after classes and even taking me to dine at hidden gems in the city that I had no idea existed.
As someone who had recently, maybe 8 months ago, moved to the area, I was still discovering new places and Taehyung seemed determined to show me the best of what the city had to offer.
One evening, we were walking through the streets when Taehyung suggested grabbing some street food for dinner.
His eyes sparkled with excitement and his boxy smile seemed to light up the entire street. His smiles are always filled with warmth and affection that made me feel cherished and special.
"You really gonna eat street food?" I asked, unable to hide my incredulity at the thought of someone as wealthy as Taehyung indulging in street fare.
His brow furrowed slightly at my question and for a moment, I found myself wanting to reach out and smooth away the lines with my fingers. But I held myself back, reminding myself that my feelings was still in its early stages and I needed to tread carefully with my newfound feelings.
"Why not? Street food is better than 99% of five-star restaurants. Me and the others always used to eat street food here and there when we were out for the night."
I nodded hesitantly, realizing that perhaps I had been too quick to judge.
"Ooh, I mean, you are rich and all, so I kind of never thought you'd like street food." I admitted sheepishly, feeling a pang of embarrassment at my assumption.
Taehyung let out a huff of laughter, his expression softening as he reached out to wrap his hand around my wrist.
"Bubs, it's not a movie." he teased gently.
With a smile, I allowed him to lead me towards the nearest food stall, my heart fluttering with sweet sensation.
I was lost in my thoughts when a gentle shake on my shoulders snapped me out of my reverie.
I glanced up to see my grandmother. Her wrinkled face was wearing a look of confusion. Clearing my throat, I responded. "Yes, grandma, is there a problem?"
Grandma tilted her head for a moment before quickly straightening it, her hand moving to massage the crook of her neck.
"Grandma, you really shouldn't put too much pressure on your bones. Why don't you listen to the doctors?" I chided gently.
But my sassy grandmother simply chuckled, taking our white cat from the table and settling it in her lap as she perched herself on a nearby chair.
"Kids shouldn't tell elders what to do." she retorted with a playful glint in her eye, earning an eye roll from me in response.
