We take an amnesiac to camp instead of a hospital

The clouds dissipated as we approached the skywalk. Observing the dispersing storm clouds and the trio of people on the skywalk, a pang of frustration rippled through me. Anger flickered in my friend's eyes as she leaped off the chariot before it came to a full stop. She swiftly drew her dagger and charged at the trio of demigods while Butch managed the horses. Honestly, I couldn't blame her.

"Where is he?" Annabeth demanded as I joined her, stepping off the chariot to flank her right side. I glanced down at the trio. Two boys and a girl.

The older boy, closer to my age, had a blonde mane and a sturdy build. He exuded an air of power, yet appeared bewildered and disoriented. Understandable, considering what they had just witnessed—pegasi pulling a chariot and my best friend brandishing a dagger.

The younger boy seemed around fifteen, with elfin features reminiscent of the Hermes Cabin kids back at camp.

The girl, also around fifteen, had features hinting at Native American descent, her kaleidoscope eyes shifting hues like changing seasons.

"Where's who?" the blonde boy asked, his confusion palpable. Annabeth's patience wore thin.

"What about Gleeson? Where is your protector, Gleeson Hedge?"

The younger boy cleared his throat. "He got taken by some tornado things."

"Venti," the blonde boy added. "Storm spirits."

I raised an eyebrow. "Venti? Annabeth, aren't storm spirits called Anemoi Thuellai?"

"Yeah... Venti is the Roman term. Anemoi Thuellai is the Greek one."

Introductions followed—Jason, Piper, and Leo.

Midway through their tale, Butch approached, standing beside Annabeth, his rainbow tattoo on full display, his gaze mirroring her hostility.

Their story provided no insight into the mystery we were unraveling, and they seemed oblivious to the gravity of our situation.

"No! No! No! She told me if I came here, I would find the answer."

"Annabeth, calm down. Hera didn't lie. Look at that," I interjected.

"The guy with one shoe," Butch muttered. "He is the answer."

"Jade, Butch, we were tricked," Annabeth murmured, her frustration directed at the sky as if it had wronged her. She gestured wildly, her dagger dangerously close.

"What do you want from me?" she screamed. "What have you done with him?"

The skywalk trembled, the horses whinnied.

"Annie, calm down," I pleaded. "He isn't here, so we gotta go. Now, let's just get back to camp. We don't want to be here when the storm spirits return."

"Fine." Annabeth shot a resentful glance at Jason. "We'll settle this later." With that, she turned and marched back to the chariot.

"What's her problem?" Piper grumbled. "What's going on?"

"Seriously," Leo chimed in.

I shot them my signature ice-cold glare, as if it were their fault for the mess we found ourselves in.

"I am not going anywhere with her," Jason protested, eyeing Annabeth warily. "She looks like she wants to kill me."

"Annabeth wants to kill everyone nowadays," I admitted. "And right now, she's not the only one. She had a vision telling us to come here, to find the guy with one shoe. That was supposed to be the answer to her problem." I paused. "The camp's problem."

"What problem?" Piper asked.

"One of our campers has been missing," I explained, "for three days. Annabeth and many others have been searching. We had hoped he would be here."

"Who?" Jason inquired.

"None of your business," I started, but Butch cut me off. How considerate of him.

"Annabeth's boyfriend," Butch answered, giving me a pointed look. "A guy named Percy Jackson."
