Forgive me for the late update 🥲🥹

Taehyung isn't one for parties. He hated the crowd, the sweaty bodies, and the stench of weeds or 'god knows what' stuff the teens get their hands on during these big ass parties. It's a wonder how the rich hoist such extravagant events on weekends, luring youths with the promise of good time and booze only for you to end up with a massive headache the next day.

He doesn't like parties, yet he was here, holed to the counter, nursing the first drink he got after he arrived at Jungkook's house. Jeon Jungkook is a recent addition to their school's chess team and a friend of Jimin's from his home town, Busan. He also learned that Jimin used to tutor a young Jungkook back when they were high schoolers.

Taehyung can see the way Jungkook is looking up to Jimin. The younger's bambi eyes shine like two crystals in the sun while he is looking at Jimin, and Taehyung hates to admit that it is an endearing sight. He gets it because Jimin has that effect on everyone. All it takes is one look at the angelic face and innocent eyes, and you will be a total goner. Taehyung thought he was in heaven the first time he heard the guy giggle.

And next to Jungkook and Jimin is his other half. Jimin is hanging off his boyfriend's arm, and Taehun's hand is securely wrapped around the older's small waist. Jimin's cheeks are tinted an eye-catching pink, and his full lips are permanently stretched into an ethereal smile that is both pleasant and painful to watch. Pleasing because it's beautiful and is unknowingly the reason for his own smiles. It is painful since he isn't the reason for those dazzling smiles. Taehun is the cause of Jimin's sweet giggles. His older brother is the reason for the corner of Jimin's eyes forming the little crescents that he yearns to kiss at least once in this life.

Jimin's laughs are muffled on Taehun's shoulder. From this distance, Taehyung can make out the small pout on Jimin's lips every time his brother or Jungkook teases him, his flushed fingers pinching Taehun's biceps, or any place he can reach easily. Jungkook, on the other hand, receives a hard slap on the back of his head when he pokes fun at Jimin too much. Taehyung wishes he too was part of it.

All this aside, for more times than he can count, his eyes repeatedly seek the fond look Taehun has on his face every single time he looks at his boyfriend. His brother definitely looks like he is in love with Jimin. It's so endearing to watch his brother fall for someone as good as Jimin. Jimin and Taehun look like they promised a forever by each other's sides.

As much as it is nice to watch Jimin and Taehun in their honey moon phase, it is a lot painful to be the one standing on the side. Taehyung wishes he had known Jimin like his brother.

It's only been a year since Jimin came into his life. Even if it's as his older brother's boyfriend, he can't deny that Jimin made an impact that was strong enough to tilt his world from its axis. In the little time they have known each other, he's learned how carefree and otherworldly Jimin is. Taehyung can't remember the number of times Jimin took care of him.

At first, it was odd seeing his brother's boyfriend take care of his drunken ass in the middle of the night when Taehun was only a room away, sleeping on the bed he shared with Jimin. On the same bed, Jimin was asleep a moment ago, cuddling his boyfriend till he decided to show up, swaying on both feet, and accidentally knocking on the vase he crafted in his pottery class.

Taehyung tried to hold back the cries that threatened to leave his mouth because he made the vase as a gift for his mother. His plan was to surprise her with it the next time he got the chance to travel to Daegu, and it's been so long since he saw his parents. He did the intricate designs with the utmost care, and all it took was a careless twist of his foot to ruin everything. But seeing the shreds of the jar scattered on the floor was heartbreaking. Tears pooled in his eyes, blurring his vision. He had to take a shaky breath to hold back the tears as his trembling fingers tried to clumsily pick the pieces from the floor.
