SOULMATE

An au where art major Kim Taehyung and dance major Park Jimin meet via their friends group and they end up shaking hands for the first time, only for taehyung to feel a sudden tingling sensation that travelled the length of his arm when jimin's small hands settled comfortably in his palms.

'Soulmate' his mind supplied, the realisation igniting a surge of warmth in his chest that didn't last long when jimin didn't seem to be affected the same as taehyung.

With reluctance taehyung let go of his soulmate's hand, the warm solid weight of jimin's hand being something he already started missing.

Taehyung spent the entirety of the gathering staring at jimin with a heavy heart that ached badly for his other half.

They began as friends even if they were two sides of the same coin, their differences clashing violently at times yet it was the same thing that drew them closer than ever.

Fast forward to an year after their meeting, Jimin confessed his not-so -platonic feelings to taehyung in a state of drunken stupor and taehyung despite claiming to have fallen in love with jimin for the nth time couldn't help himself from stumbling towards Jimin in shaky legs, couldn't stop himself from cupping the others face in his hands to say, to finally say, that he's in love with him too.

Next thing he knows is him on the floor with an overly drunk jimin on his top, kissing taehyung like his life depended on it, like taehyung is the only person that matters.

That day taehyung slept with an armful of jimin, trying to stifle his giggles into his soulmates shoulder,who was sleepily grumbling about how 'love was unfair for he waited too long' and ' taehyungie is a meanie' but whispered a silent ' I love you' before drifting off to sleep. The tingling in his body doubled when taehyung pressed a kiss to jimin's temple afterwards.

Six months to them being boyfriends and yet taehyung never got over the fact of how he was the only one who can tell they are soulmates.

Don't get him wrong, him and Jimin were happy together and taehyung never stopped falling for the other, if anything taehyung wonders how it's possible to keep falling for the older again and again.

But it's jimin of all people and doing anything but loving him is completely off the charts ( or maybe taehyung is extra whipped for his boyfriend).

But the ache in his chest grew the more jimin remained oblivious to the truth.

It was on one summer evening taehyung broke the news to jimin.

The younger expected to see the telltale signs of surprise to etch jimin's features but all he saw were the same eyes as before that was currently peering at taehyung with fondness and something terribly similiar to 'love', he can tell for he had never looked at Jimin with anything less.

Taking both of his hands to intertwine their fingers, jimin gazed into his eyes and whispered a simple ' I know'.

Ironically it was taehyung who got surprised when he learned jimin knew they were soulmates the first time he saw taehyung across the campus lawn and that the first time they touched, jimin felt a tingling in his chest.

' It was like everything felt right, like everything suddenly made sense. That was the first time I felt whole in my life' jimin explained with a fond giggle, trying to wipe the tears that welled up in taehyung's eyes.

Taking a hold of the small hands that cupped his face, taehyung brought them to his lips, kissing every single one of them, enamored by the cute fingertips turning pink.

Taehyung nuzzled the others palm with closed eyes and whispered his confession of 'l love you' onto the warmth of jimins skin , his eyes flickering up to lock with those brown orbs that never failed to amaze him.

Jimin carefully brought taehyung's face to him, placed a soft kiss on his lips, his fingers cradling taehyung's face as if he's a delicate flower and nuzzled their noses together lovingly.

' I love you my taehyungah' , jimin's confession erupted a tingling feeling that spread as a fire in his veins, consuming him whole and yeah he is ready to get burnt if it means jimin will be his in this lifetime and the ones that come after,

' His Soulmate, His Love'.
