Alpha taehyung × Omega jimin

The walk back to his house wouldn't have been this eventful if taehyung hadn't volunteered to accompany him.

When jimin wished a night to everyone, it was jin who insisted someone walk him home.

He refused to let his eyes well up with tears when taehyung's head snapped up on hearing this.

Jimin didn't have to dread too long to hear the inevitable words leave the alpha's mouth.

'I will take him home hyung' taehyung had said too suddenly and jimin's fist clenched by his side, afraid to look the alpha in the eye.

Jimin could still feel taehyung's eyes on him when he denied with a shake of his head, had pleaded with his eyes to his hyung but one hard glare from jin was enough for the fight to leave his body.

He didn't see how something sorrowful flashed in taehyung's eyes at the time.

Neither did he see how giddy taehyung looked when namjoon, jimin's brother gave him the greenlight to take him home.

Jimin did overhear taehyung promising his brother that he will take good care of him and jimin had to scold his omega for yearning strongly for someone who is never going to be his.

Taehyung was walking a few feet behind him, his steps too light as if he was floating high above the ground and jimin would have turned around to check whether the alpha was following him or not if not the scent of tangerine occassionally reached his nose whenever the wind picked up speed.

The echo of soft footsteps behind him had his heart aching because this wasn't how things were between them before.

Jimin had met taehyung when he was seven, out to explore the market with his hyung who was always known to forget things but at the time what namjoon forgot was the directions their father gave to the flower shop situated at the farther side of the market.

Jimin ran head first into a small pup who was the same height as him when his eyes were searching for the name of the shop he heard his father say while he was instructing namjoon.

Their heads bumped together and jimin fell down on his ass, clutching his head in pain not realising that there were small hands in his hair trying to pry his fingers away from the small bump that began to form on his head.

Once the tears in his eyes cleared, his nose twitched with the weak scent of sweet lemon, staring back at small round eyes looking at him with worry.

'M sorry' the pup apologized with a sad frown on his lips, fussing over his head to rub softly at the paining lump on his head even though he himself was spotting a similar one on his head.

'My mum do this whenever I cut myself' the black head mumbled laying a small kiss on his head, right over where their heads collided and jimin giggled, so endeared with the upset pout and sorry look on the other's face.

'My name's taetae' the child introduced with a contagious enthusiasm that day and jimin had smiled back at the pup who was curiously looking at him with a wonderous glint in his eyes and when the other helped him to his feet, jimin offered to pat taetae clean in return for helping him.

By the time jimin adjusted the too big shoes on his feet, his eyes wandered around in search of his hyung who was nowhere to be found at the time.
