Ghosted

Chapter 2

Being invisible is probably one of the best things Piper could do with her quirk, observe. Sneak into anywhere at any time. Scare people, stalk people. Not that she actually stalks people. That's just... You know what I mean.

There Piper stood, her back pressed against the building; her good leg bent slightly. She crossed her arms as she observed the two men currently in front of her, bickering to one another.

Bakugo was pointing an accusing finger at Kirishima, "What the fuck Red you let him escape!" The other male scoffed in response, "Me? You got here before I did!" Piper raised a brow at the two, shaking her head.

These two are grown men, and they are arguing over who let the thief escape. He was long gone before Bakugo even approached the scene, kind to think of it. Why are they even over here in this part of the city?

"Whatever, where'd that woman go that got her bag stolen?" Bakugo asked, putting his hands on hips. Piper wondered how he could with the giant ass gauntlets on both his wrists, but hey. She isn't one to judge what helps in combat, not that she knows what it's like to fight him one on one. Side note, meaning she is the Ghost Vigilante, she there's one second and disappears the next.

Kirishima pulled out his phone from his pocket, glancing at the time. It read 10:50pm. In 10 minutes, they would officially be off the clock from their hero duties.

"Don't know, she disappeared the same as the thief." He finally responded, shoving the device back into his pocket. Bakugo glanced around the alley, feeling another presence. Though he wasn't sure if he was just tired, he usually liked to go to bed around 9:00pm.

His eyes seemed to have stopped on the wall Piper was leaning on. She stayed in her place. Not moving an inch from the position, she was in a few moments prior; staring into his crimson eyes.

Kirishima noticed the strange behavior his friend was showing but chose not to say anything or intervene. The loud hero eventually chose to walk closer, his senses fully aware there was another presence.

Piper still chose not to move, standing her ground. She wasn't scared of him, never have been. There's many things the man can do that should be scary to most. He is one of the most obnoxious heroes there is, though she couldn't stop looking at him.

Examining his facial features, she misses him. That much is obvious, but they are enemies now. She can't let him know she's alive, not yet. Not until she fulfills her goal.

Bakugo stopped just inches away from her face. She had to hold her breath so he wouldn't feel it. That's how close he was. From a distance, he looked kinda silly. Kirishima's face morphed into one of pure confusion of what the Ash Blonde was doing.

He stood there for a solid minute until the Red Head had enough, "Bakugo." He stated, clenching his fist. The male only continued to stare at the wall, directly into her eyes. Piper activated the phasing part of her quirk while staying invisible. Slowly, she inched back through the wall.

She had enough. If she stayed any longer, he would have found her. Not that he knew what Poltergeist even looked like due to a mask covering her face at all times, but he would have recognized Piper.

Once through the wall, she made her way through to the other side of the building. Bakugo let out a tsk, "Let's go, Red." He stated as he turned around and walked past the Red Head without glancing at him. Kirishima looked flabbergasted, blinking confusingly at him.

Before following after his comrade, Kirishima glanced back to the place Bakugo was so intent on. "Shitty hair." The Ash Blonde spoke, rather aggressively. He turned around and followed after him, wondering what on earth just happened.

He thought about asking but wasn't sure if Bakugo would even tell him, so he stayed quiet.

Once back in her apartment, Piper lay down on her bed. Allowing herself to pass out as soon as her head hit the pillow.
