Ghosted

Chapter 8

A couple of days later, Piper made her way to Midoriya's apartment. Truth to be told, when she ran into Bakugo at the bar, she went to the green haired man's house.

He was surprised, but non the less welcomed her with open arms. He was like a brother more than a friend after all, so they sat down and talked for a while. She told him everything she wanted to do but made him promise not to tell Bakugo anything.

Not what she was planning, not that he's seen her, nothing. She needed to see All Might ultimately. That was one of the reasons she went to him and to talk to Todoroki Shoto.

After Dabi pretty much lost his mind by trying to kill Shoto and their father, Dabi changed. He went to jail and prayed, trying to make it right. So, really, the only reason why she wants to speak to Shoto is to get ahold of Dabi.

The reason why she wants to get ahold of All Might is to learn why he gave up trying to find her, not that she actually knows. But she wants to know, she wants to be at peace with whatever she hears from the horses mouth himself.

So there she is, the day after the Octopod incident. Standing outside the Toshinori residents, that's his real name, by the way. Palms sweating, and breath shaky.

She lifted her hand to knock once, then twice. Two seconds later, the door opened; however, she wasn't expecting to see Ms Midoriya's face.

"Inko." Piper spoke rather softly, shocked and very happy to her second mother. Emidietly, the green haired woman pulled Piper into a bear tight hug. "Piper, my gosh, you've grown. I'd love to sit down and catch up, but I think you didn't come here for me."

Piper felt bad at that moment. If she had known Inko would be there, she would have absolutely sat down with her to have tea. "I'm sorry, Inko, I promise I'll come back to see you."

Inko just smiled sweetly, gesturing the Ravenette to follow her. They made their way through the house and out the back door to the backyard. "Yagi is just over there. He's been wanting to speak with you for a long time."

Bakugo hadn't spoken to Piper in over a month. Sitting in his office, Bakugo was looking at a letter Kirishima gave him. Apparently, it came from All Might.

He still isn't sure why the man didn't give it to him himself, considering he thought they became closer after Bakugo died and was technically reincarnated by Edge Shot.

That's a story for another time, though. Kirishima was paintently sitting down in front of the Blondes desk in a somewhat stiff chair.

The tension in the air was clearly there, "Bakugo." Kirishima stated, the blonde cleared his throat. He began reading the paper currently in his hands.

"Young Bakugo,

After the incident occurred, the Kinley family was pronounced dead. A house fire caused by a gas leak. However, their neighbor stated they saw two men at 3 in the morning standing outside the Kinley residence. The only reason why they were awake and saw this was to let their dog out. They had thought to call the police since they recognized one man, but feared their life if they were to interfere in whatever scheme the villains were planning. The investigation team did indeed find Miss Kinley Piper's DNA. However, it wasn't enough to be her full body. The hero's and police department declared that if they were to release this information to the press. Chaos would spread throughout Masutafu, and fear for Miss Kinley Piper's life since she was kidnapped. We don't know where she is, we tried finding her. For 8 years, we tried finding her, and we don't know why she was taken. However, I have reason to believe they took her to get to me since she is my goddaughter. I'm truly sorry, I wish I could have done more to find her.

Bakugo's hands were shaking, out of anger? Out of relief? He's not sure, but he does know All Might did try his best. However, there's one thing bothering him, if All Might knew the LOV had Piper. When he was kidnapped at 15, why didn't they look for her when they came to rescue him?
