As my eyelids fluttered open trying to adjust to the bright lights, I was met with the white walls and the steady beep of medical equipment, a stark reminder of the nightmare that had become my reality.

My head throbbed with an ache, and every movement sent waves of pain rippling through my body. But despite the physical discomfort, my mind was consumed by a single thought – my unborn child. The memory of the searing pain and the warm, sticky liquid trickling down my legs flooded my senses, sending a shiver down my spine.

I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through my abdomen, forcing me to lie back down with a gasp. Panic clawed at the edges of my consciousness as I struggled to make sense of my surroundings. Where was I? What had happened?

Then memories came flooding back – the tea, the pain, Kelise's laughter. My heart raced in my chest as I realized the gravity of the situation. Kelise had poisoned me, had tried to harm me and my unborn child.

But where was she now? And what had happened to my baby?

Is my baby dead?

I need answers.

As if on cue, the door to the hospital room swung open, and Alexandro burst through, his face a mask of concern and relief.

"Mia!" he exclaimed, rushing to my side. "Thank God you're awake. I've been so worried about you."

His words washed over me, easing the fear and uncertainty that had threatened to consume me. Despite the pain, despite the chaos that had occured, he was here, by my side, his love unwavering and unconditional.

"Alex," I whispered, reaching out to him, my voice barely above a whisper. "What happened? Where is Kelise? Is our baby..."

Alex's jaw tightened at the mention of her name, his expression darkening with anger..

"It's...it's Kelise," he said, his voice barely above a whisper as he recounted the event "She attacked you, Mia. She poisoned your tea, and...and when you collapsed, ...she escaped"

My heart pounded in my chest as I listened to each word. Kelise made jealousy and bitterness had driven her to commit unspeakable acts of cruelty .And yet, despite her best efforts, I was still here, still alive but wait.....

I ran my hand across my belly ""And...and the baby?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper as I braced myself for his answer"

Alex's expression softened, his eyes filled with a mixture of sorrow and hope as he reached for my hand, intertwining our fingers in a gesture of solidarity and reassurance.

"They could still hear his heartbeat" He said following a laugh. "Mi ute a fighta"his voice trembling with emotion
