Chapter 15: The Fight

The morning led to everyone getting ready, Alastor and Ruvine would be at the top of the hotel to try and lure Adam to fight there if he got through, everyone else would be below to fight as they could, and as the portal opened, bright light from above shining down, Ruvine felt a pang in her heart. Not only would Adam, the man who under that harsh facade just wanted what was lost and for his past hurt, would be coming.

Lucifer had yet to return. As the angels came into hell and towards the hotel, Ruvine heard the battle cries below as she bellowed her own as her form shifted, magic crackling around her as vines shot to wrap around many, animals armed with enforced claws rushed up them to tear apart as Alastor cackled nearby her.

His cane slammed into the roof as he held up his hands and mic to the sky as his barrier rose up, trapping many inside, but not Adam and Lute, enough angels to allow the others a chance as Ruvine and Alastor did their best from the roof. Ruvine would occasionally slap a angel away from her and Alastor as they got close, but soon, she roared in surprise as Adam slammed his hand into the barrier as it broke. Angels were flooding at the ones below as Alastor saw her send her vines and animals down to help defend the others, only for her to jump when Adam landed before them on the sign as she slowly shifted back to her more normal appearance.

As angels fought below, Alastor saw Adam slowly come down as Ruvine walked to hold out her hands, smiling faintly amongst her cuts and golden splatters from the angels she killed as Adam sighed quietly and gently rubbed her hands with his own. She almost spoke, but went wide eyed as a spear went through her left shoulder as she slammed into Adam who went wide eyed, a buck screech echoing Alastor as his form began to crack as he saw Adam look up at Lute who was grinning. Adam gently set her down gently as he flew off to fire beams at the ones below to keep up pretenses as Alastor rushed for her.

Charlie, thinking Alastor and Ruvine were killed, regardless of the weakening vines and animals nearby them, saw Sir Pentious get into his craft as he began to charge his beam, only for Adam to blast it from the sky as Cherri screamed in horror.

Vaggie joined Charlie in her charge for Adam and Lute, only for Vaggie to be dragged into the hotel as Charlie went to help her, only to be slammed onto the roof as she groaned in pain, Adam landing before her as she glared up at him, only to go wide eyed as he quietly waved her down before rushing to the side as she weakly followed, eyes wide to see Alastor, crouched and shifted, as he growled and snarled at them. A weak Ruvine was twitching below him as she looked over, weakly reaching as Alastor nervously allowed Adam and Charlie over as she saw Adam gently hold her hand as he stroked some of her fur from her face.

"I know... I know this is confusing.... that I am not the same as you saw before.... but a very kind woman once told me.... that even some have the heart to change..." Adam quietly hummed, seeing Ruvine smile more as she coughed painfully, Adam slowly got up as Alastor growled but calmed when Adam gently rubbed his closest horn as Alastor remained on guard above Ruvine.

"My second hand will be here soon, as will your little angel, Vaggie.... we must keep up pretenses, unless we show that I am more reasonable than Lute knows...." He muttered, looking at Charlie who nodded, and they began to spar as Alastor pulled the shadows further over them to hide them some as Vaggie tried to come to Charlie's aid, only for Lute, one arm bleeding, pinned her somewhat.

Adam was sent flying as Lucifer came into the fight, Adam kept his side up as he snarled, mask half broken, and as they fought, Charlie had gotten Lute away from Vaggie as they watched the fighting from the roof, only for them to panic when Adam blasted at the hotel. Alastor clutched a still injured Ruvine to his front as her vines weakly supported them, Vaggie taking flight as Lucifer saved Charlie from falling. He had turned to see Adam coming at them as he didn't see the man was unarmed, slamming him into the ground as he went to punch him, he only got two hits in before he froze as Adam panted and quietly whimpered as he kept his face turned to the side.

A necklace was settled on him and the charm made Lucifer blink as he saw it, a vine wrapped around a microphone, he looked up as Adam weakly looked at him and smiled slightly as they slowly got up, Adam weakly took his hand as the fighting stopped as Lute almost said something, only to gasp to see Adam's wings losing their golden sheen as they turned black. His halo cracking as horns grew from his head slowly and his clothing turned less golden yellow to a dark grey, his ears growing into more goat like ears as he looked up.

Gone was the first man turned angel, now he had accepted that he should've been in hell instead, his past actions of rage and destruction affecting him more than he thought, and while the angels retreated and considered him dead to them, he joined the others.

They cheered for their win as Lucifer rushed with Adam and Charlie to find Alastor and Ruvine, their eyes wide as blood dripped from a mass of vines above them as they looked up, seeing Alastor peak from inside as he slowly broke free of it to drop before them as he sat down. Ruvine was resting in his hands as she panted weakly and wetly, blood trailing down as she weakly saw Lucifer, her cane was still clutched to her front. The fallen angel rushed over as he tore into his wrist and held it to her mouth as she weakly drank, Alastor occasionally licking at his wound as Lucifer chuckled wetly and worried. Adam slowly sat near them as Charlie left them to it, going to help with the others to rebuild as Adam smiled to see her already getting stronger with each gulp.

"Mind telling me when you decided to get involved with those two?" Adam questioned quietly, seeing Lucifer stroking her fur as she drank before stopping as Alastor drank faintly from him as well. Popping free as he returned to nuzzling and rumbling happily to Ruvine who was still healing and groggy.

"Well... At first I didn't trust them much at all, I especially tall dark and Bambi over here. However, with time, I saw past the walls they each have to hide some of themselves from others.... And I was swooned. She's a weird one, kind but fierce in a world that basically runs on backstabbing and pain. He is more what I expected, but he has a side I can tell he doesn't share often, and I'm honored he shares it with me." Lucifer chuckled, watching as Ruvine fell asleep as Alastor slowly shifted back and joined her as Adam stared in shock at the wound he now could see on the demon.

A large gash was across his chest, and he saw as his chest rose and fell, it would stutter with his pain, but he looked at Lucifer who simply started wrapping the slowly healing wounds as Adam sighed and remained nearby them.

He was fascinated by what Lucifer had become since Eden, and was interested to see what would happen from now on.
