Chapter 20: Who Dares?

The hotel was a light with happiness as Ruvine rested away in her shared rooms with her husbands, Alastor refused anyone to come inside unless it was Adam, Lucifer, Ozzie, or Mammon. The only reason the other three could enter, was because they had been nearby when the babies first came into the world. Lucifer tried to assure the buck that Charlie would be alright to come inside, but Alastor refused in defense, it took almost an entire week for him to calm down enough. By then, Charlie and Rosie had been pacing outside the door as they jumped when Adam opened the door somewhat as he peered out, eyes exhausted as he opened the door and gestured them inside.

The two entered and heard babies crying as they looked up and watched Adam tiredly fly back to the fire pit as Ruvine smiled weakly when he landed and gently took one of the babies into his arms. He gently rocked them as he hummed to them, nearby him and Ruvine was a sleeping Alastor, his eyes had deep marks underneath them, and near his head was Lucifer who was asleep as well. Ruvine didn't look better, but was feeding a second baby as Ozzie hummed quietly as Adam burped the baby before snuggling down into the pillows and blankets as the baby rested on his front. His wings were holding the little one still as he napped, and Mammon was humming as he held a very small baby in his left hand, the one Ruvine had been feeding now gently settled against his belly as he hummed. Soon settling the smallest one alongside the other child as his eyes closed and his extra limbs set themselves to steady him as he went into a light sleep.

Rose cooed over the scene quietly as Charlie smiled as they sat down nearby Ruvine and the two she called husband, said doe smiled back weakly as she hummed.
"Hello you two, as you can see, we've been very busy...." Ruvine hummed quietly as she threaded her claws gently through both Alastor and Lucifer's hair as she giggled slightly.

"Yeah, how is everyone doing? Especially you, little doe? The boys seem more exhausted than you and you birthed the wee little bundles!" Rosie chirped quietly, seeing Ruvine giggle as she nodded slightly and settled her hands on either of her husband's heads as she relaxed further into the pillows behind her.

"Yeah, I'm doing alright, they all have been doing shifts of helping me feed them, so we're all equally tired to a point. Lucifer says I should be healed up fully soon, but to not stress. How are things outside of this room?" Ruvine asked questioningly, head tilted to one side some as Charlie wiggled happily and scooted forward a bit more as she smiled.

"Things have been going alright enough! We've had a few residents cause a little trouble, but Rosie and the others have been amazing in helping care for the hotel while you recover. Niffty remembers the plant care routine and Husk goes with Angel to periodically check on your domain, they say it is healthy if not a bit sluggish. Which makes sense of course!" Charlie's voice chirped quietly but quickly, she went over a few other minor things, and as she paused to breathe, she smiled as Rosie and her giggled quietly, Ruvine had fallen asleep mid conversation, the only few awake were Rosie, Charlie, and Mammon, Ozzie had fallen asleep a few before Ruvine.

The two looked at Mammon who was humming quietly as he cradled the two babies in his hold, eyes opening as he felt their looks as he flinched at the untrusting looks of the two. He sighed as he remained relaxed but sat up more some as he waved faintly with a free limb.

"I can fucking see you two have questions, and I have a feeling I know about what and why and my fucking intentions. So, go on." He muttered, seeing them settle in and face him more as he sighed tiredly again.

"Alright, I'll start, what are your intentions for being so close to the royals and their newborns?" Rosie asked quietly but sternly, her eyes narrowed as Mammon chuckled slightly but quietly, lifting one of the babies up some as she squirmed, ears wiggling as her small tail twitched in her sleep. Settling once he settled them over his heart with the smaller boy.
