"This fucking chain is gay." Justin mumbled as he tugged at his silver necklace.

Jessica swatted at his hand.

"Stop it. You look really hot." She assured him as she adjusted the collar of his leather jacket.

Getting Justin into the entire costume had  been difficult  enough. The last thing Jessica needed was him getting irritated and ruining the whole look by taking something off.

"I look like a punk rock dog." Justin huffed as he examined the spiky wig Jessica had him wearing in the mirror of her locker.

"Justin, you said you wanted to do this." Jessica spoke, getting irritated by his negativity.

"I do. I'm here, right?" Justin responded irritably.

"You don't have to be such an ass about it." Jessica hissed.

He had basically ghosted her, hid from her and ignored her. And now that he was here, he was being horrible to her.

She didn't need that. She needed her boyfriend. She needed him to be loving and supportive. Not... this

"Whoo! Come on ladies!" Justin heard a random voice whoop.

There was sudden commotion in the hallway.

Him and Jessica looked up curiously as everyone seemed to have their eyes directed to someone down the hall.

Justin's breath all but caught when he saw that it wasn't someone but two someones. None other than Ariel and Sherri Holland.

"The Holland twins do it again." Beecher yelled as he walked up to the twins forcing himself between them. He lifted up his  phone and took a selfie.

Ariel looked shy but Sherri was front and centre posing for the photo.

Lots of other people seemed to be giving the twins compliments as they walked by.

They were dressed as Wilma and Betty from the Flinstones.

Sherri had on the Wilma costume, the little white dress with the cut outs at the end. She wore a pearl necklace and had on a red wig with her hair up in a chignon.

Ari, who Justin was still staring at, came as Betty. She had on a little blue dress with similar cuts at the hem. It hugged her body well, resting on her hips.

She had on a short black bob wig with a little blue bow on top.

Justin knew Ari enough to know that this definitely hadn't been her idea.

Ari didn't like attention which Justin found ridiculous because in his opinion, all she had to do was walk into a room and all eyes would be on her.

But that wasn't Ariel. She didn't realise what effect she had on people. That's why you found her dreading giving presentations in class, shying away from the spotlight whenever it was on her. For goodness sake, Ariel still made Justin order for her even if they went to a place that they had been to dozens of times.

"Justin."

Justin looked up when he heard Jessica say his name in irritation.

He felt embarrassed at being caught staring.

He was glad he didn't have to explain himself because at that moment Zach and Marcus joined them.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Zach greeted.

"T'sup." Marcus greeted showing his fangs. He wore a cloak and had fake blood down his lip.

"Who are you supposed to be?" Jessica asked Zach.
