Mark soon came towards a small forest outside Pallet Town.
"This marks the beginning of my journey across Kanto." He held Bulbasaur in his arms as he walked along the path.
The two were hoping to head to Viridian City, but they didn't know the way there.
Mark came to a stream. He unscrewed the lid on a water bottle and scooped some water into it.
As he was filling his canteen, a red-haired girl also came to the stream.
"Hello." She greeted Mark. "I'm going to do some fishing, want to join me?"
"My name's Misty, by the way." The girl introduced herself.
"Aren't you one of the Sensational Sisters from Cerulean City?" Mark asked out loud.
Those four were famous across the Kanto Region.
"Um..." Misty started to say, before trailing off. "Yes. But I don't get along with my sisters that well."
"Let's move on." Mark decided to drop the current subject to avoiding upsetting her. "Would you know where Viridian City is?"
Misty appreciated the fact that he didn't press the issue any further.
"Continue down this road to get to Viridian City." She revealed.
"I appreciate it." Mark headed down the path.
It wasn't long before Mark saw Viridian City from a hilltop.
