After spending some time relaxing on Porta Vista's beach, the gang decided it would be a good time to catch a boat back to the mainland. They were forced to wait for one to arrive though.
While they waited Mark elected to train his Bulbasaur, Sandshrew and Pikachu.
"Soon enough, I'll have a fourth Pokemon." He said.
The blue egg he found on the S.S Anne was in his arms. While their Pokemon were healing in the Pokemon Center, he volunteered to take the egg.
"What do you think it will hatch into?" Misty asked.
"I have no idea." Mark shrugged his shoulders.
All that mattered to him was that the new Pokemon was healthy.
He then caught sight of something. A small, blue seahorse was paddling in the ocean and it appeared to be injured. Next to it were a pair of jellyfish with red jewels on their bodies. They appeared to be injured as well.
"A Horsea and Tentacool." Mark noted.
"I love Tentacool." Misty happily sighed.
"I'm going to catch them." She said.
She was about to throw some Poke Balls at them.
"You might want to wait." Mark advised.
Brock thought so as well.
"They look like they were in a fight." He said.
"You're right." Misty agreed with him. "What happened?"
"We're about to find out." Mark suddenly said.
He was staring out at sea.
"That boat's under attack." He said.
It was a boat containing some workers. It suddenly sank and the workers fell into the ocean.
"Let's go." Mark assumed his dragon form and Misty released all her water type Pokemon.
They took the workers to safety.
"Thanks for that." The workers thanked the two for saving them.
"We're-" The workers were about to explain what they were doing when a old woman appeared.
"My name's Nastina." The old woman introduced herself to Mark, Misty and Brock. "Thanks for helping my men."
"My goal is to construct a hotel and theme park in the middle of the ocean." She explained. "Those disgusting Tentacool are getting in the way. Say, as you three are trainers, would you care to get rid of those Tentacool?"
Mark held a hand up to silence Nastina.
"Why would we possibly agree to a request like that?" He asked.
Misty and Brock also refused to comply with Nastina's request.
The gang then proceeded to leave.
Mark, Misty and Brock stared out at the ocean.
"I have a idea why the workers are being attacked." He said.
"And that is?" Misty asked.
"It was probably because the theme park and hotel are being constructed in their territory." He elaborated.
"That makes sense." Brock replied. "Wild Pokemon lash out when their territory is threatened."
"If that's the case, we need to deal with Nastina." Mark declared.
The Horsea and Tentacool made a reappearance. Misty walked up to them.
"Tentacool." She said to them. "Is the construction site your home?"
The Tentacool nodded.
"You were right." She told Mark. "Nastina is ruining the ocean. We need to stop her."
There was a new problem. Nastina had lost patience with the Tentacool.
"Can you get rid of them?" She asked everyone in Porta Vista.
"I'll pay you a lot of money if you do." She added.
Everyone accepted the offer.
"What's the plan?" Mark asked. "Nastina is dead set on getting rid of the Tentacool."
The attempt made one of the Tentacool evolve into Tentacruel. This Tentacruel was ten times the size of a normal Tentacruel.
"That's...not good." Mark muttered.
"No kidding, that giant Tentacruel is angrier than all the Tentacool combined." Brock added.
The giant Tentacruel proceeded to destroy the city and the Tentacool assisted him. Then Tentacruel grabbed Meowth and spoke through him like a puppet.
"Humans." The giant Tentacruel said. "You destroyed our home, now we'll destroy yours in return."
"So the hotel is being constructed on their habitat." Brock said.
"We need to stop them." Misty said. "There's no telling what they'll do next."
The Horsea and two Tentacool tried to reason with Tentacruel, but he wasn't willing to listen to a word they said.
"It's no use Horsea, Tentacool." It said. "Humans are not trustworthy and should be destroyed."
The Tentacool and Tentacruel destroyed Nastina's hotel and theme park, then resumed attacking the city.
"Fine." Mark muttered. "If you're not willing to stop, I'll make you stop."
He was preparing to change forms and ram into Tentacruel.
Misty bravely stepped onto a building and spoke through a microphone.
"Tentacruel." She said. "I understand your anger over what humans have done to your habitat. Now we're aware of that and promise that won't be repeated."
"Stop your attack on the city." Tentacruel was hesitant at first, not sure if it should trust Misty or not.
"Return to the ocean." It commanded.
"We'll let you off the hook for now." It said. "But if you attack our habitat again, we won't be so forgiving."
"Understood." Mark would make sure that wouldn't happen again.
Nastina was still angry with Tentacool and Tentacruel, desiring to get rid of them. Tentacruel merely swatted her away.
"I would've done the same thing." Mark mumbled.
Nothing was going to be constructed on their habitat again. The inhabitants of Porta Vista knew that they would retaliate.
With Tentacool and Tentacruel calmed down the gang boarded a boat to the mainland.
"Have a question for you." Mark looked at Misty. "Did you capture any Tentacool?"
"Yeah." Misty nodded. "Remember the Horsea and Tentacool we saw? I captured them and they're presently at the Cerulean Gym."
"Daisy, Lily and Violet must be ecstatic about new water type Pokemon."
"They are." Misty replied.
Mark, Misty and Brock went on their way.
