The teen, who's name was revealed to be Mark, walked to Prof. Oak's lab.
'I wonder what Pokemon I'll choose today to begin my journey.' Mark thought to himself.
Your choices for a starter Pokemon in Kanto were Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.
'Considering the type of Pokemon the first two gym leaders use, I'll choose Bulbasaur as my starter.' He thought out loud.
The Pewter Gym's specialty was rock type Pokemon and the Cerulean Gym's specialty was water type Pokemon and Bulbasaur was super effective against both leaders.
Mark eventually made it to Prof. Oak's lab which was located on the southern end of town and rang the door bell. The professor then came to the door.
"Hello Mark. What can I do for you?" He asked, looking at the boy.
"I'd like a starter Pokemon." Mark politely responded to the professor's question.
"Well then, come on in." The professor moved to the side, allowing Mark to enter.
The inside of the professor's lab was nice. Three Poke Balls were on a table towards the back.
"Those must contain Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, huh?" He asked out of curiosity.
"You would be correct." Prof. Oak nodded at his assumption.
Mark quickly headed over to the Poke Balls to check them out.
Professor Oak released all three from their Poke Balls so he could see them.
"Which one do you want?" Mark took a good look at all three.
He considered a lot of things before eventually reaching a decision.
