Now that he had the Boulder Badge, Mark was in the process of obtaining his second badge. He was currently looking at a map on his mini laptop.
"According to this, we need to pass through Mt. Moon to get to Cerulean City." He said.
"Mt. Moon?" Misty asked. "That name sounds romantic."
"My research indicates the mountain houses the Moon Stone."
"Are you saying that you studied this entire region?" Brock questioned in surprise.
"Moon Stone?"
"It's said to allow certain Pokemon like Clefairy and Nidorino to evolve." Mark explained.
"So you're saying it's a evolutionary stone." Misty remarked.
"That seems to be the case." Mark nodded. "Let's keep going."
He, Misty and Brock continued walking through Mt. Moon.
"Ah." A scream was heard in the distance by the gang.
"What's going on?" Mark asked, confused.
"Someone's in trouble." Brock said. "Let's check it out."
They quickly went to the person who was screaming.
A man was being attacked by what looked like bats.
"Zubat!" Mark exclaimed. This particular Pokemon could be found all over Kanto.
He ran forward with a flaming fist and scared the Zubat away.
This was his Fire Dragon Iron Fist attack.
"Thanks." The man said. "I intruded on the Zubat's territory and caused them to become upset."
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Seymour, a scientist and researcher."
"Name's Mark. These are my friends Brock and Misty." He gestured to himself, then Brock and Misty.
"Hey Seymour, do you know where the exit is?" Mark asked.
"Yes, follow me." Seymour led them to the second floor of the mountain.
"Keep heading north and you'll soon come across the exit."
"Thanks Seymour." Mark told him.
Courtesy of his directions, the gang soon came upon a staircase leading out of the mountain.
"We finally got out of the mountain." Misty sighed in relief.
"Now we're near Cerulean City and the Cascade Badge." Mark stated.
