I was catching up with my notes when my phone rang. It was Aashna, my best friend since 1st grade. We hadn't had a gossip session in a while, so I picked up the call almost immediately, excited to share everything.

"Aashna! Hey babe, what's up? How's London been?"

"Hey! London's amazing. How are you?"

Aashna's tone changed to concern. "What happened? Why do you sound so low?"

I took a deep breath and began to narrate the whole story, from how I met Noah to the details of the sexual deal between us.

Aashna: Itna sab ho gaya aur tunhe mujhe bataya bhi nhi
(These many things happened and you didn't even tell me)

"Yaar Aashna maan karta hai sab chhor chaar ke aajau. Yeah, situation ship aur with benefits wali cheez se hamesha bhai hoon toh ab kyu kar rhi hoon main yeh sab? Yaar mai galti kar rhi hoon na?"
(I think I should leave everything and come. I have always been on a run from situation ship and with benefits stuff then why am I making this mistake now?)

Aashna: That's life! The things you run from are the things you get attracted to the most aur yeh sab tera first-time aur tu attachment feel kr rhi hai baas aur kuch nhi hai.
(this is your first time and you're getting attached that's it)

"Shayad mai he zyada soch rahi hoon iss baare mai, cheeze jesi chal rahi unhe vese he chalne deti hoon. Jo hoga dekha jaayega kyuki mere haath mai toh vese bhi kuch nahi hai." I said and tears rolled down my eyes.
(I guess I am just overthinking about it, I should just keep going with the flow because these things are not in my hand)

Aashna: Cheeze tere haato mai hai baas tujhe realize krni hai.
(Things are still in your hands, you just have to realize them)

"Realize what, Aashna?" I asked her.

Aashna sighed. "You're falling in love."

"Impossible! Look, I'll call you later," I said in frustration, hanging up.

I went out to the balcony, admiring the view. The night sky was shining with the light of the moon, and the city was covered in neon lights. This sight made my heart feel a little calm, but the restlessness never left my side. Everything was going well, but my heart was not at peace.

I stood there for 20 minutes until a tall figure joined me.

"Hello to you too," I said.

"What are you looking at?" he asked.

"The way the moon is competing with this beautiful city with its light, and I can't decide which to fall in love with," I explained.

"Me," Noah said jokingly.

"Noah, I've watched so many movies and read so many books, and I always end up thinking, why is that person falling? I mean, who is falling?" I blabbered.
