He came back with the pizza, and though my heart was heavy, I swallowed my emotions. I knew I couldn't force him to love me, couldn't make him feel something that might not be there. My appetite had disappeared along with my hope, but at least I managed to keep the tears at bay.

"Pizza's here," Noah announced, setting the box down on the side table.

I looked at him, my voice calm despite the storm brewing inside me. "I just want to sleep."

He paused, confused. "But you love pizza after sex."

I nodded, my smile weak. "Yes, I do, but right now, I just don't feel like eating."

Concern flickered in his eyes as he knelt down in front of me. "Hey, look, I know I'm not great at expressing what I feel for you, but whatever this is between us... I've never felt it for anyone else."

His words tugged at my heart, pulling emotions I'd tried to bury. I looked at him, my voice trembling as I confessed, "I like you way too much, Noah. Please don't break my heart."

A blush crept up his neck, his usual confident demeanor faltering for just a moment. "I don't break what's mine. I take good care of my things and my favorite person."

"Is someone blushing?" I teased, trying to lighten the mood. "Noah Carter is blushing."

He narrowed his eyes playfully. "You better not tell anyone."

I smiled, the tension easing slightly. "Pizza?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Yes, but first, I have something for you," he said, reaching into his pocket. He pulled out a small box and opened it to reveal a delicate evil eye necklace. He placed it around my neck, his fingers brushing against my skin.

"It's so pretty," I said, admiring the charm.

"Not prettier than you," he murmured, standing up and settling beside me on the bed. He unboxed the pizza, the smell wafting through the room, but my attention was torn between my new necklace and the sight of Noah blushing—something I never thought I'd see.

"You look cute when you blush," I said, taking a small bite of the pizza.

"And when I make you blush, don't hate me," he teased back, his tone light but his eyes serious.
