Trinity woke up to her phone ringing.
"Ugh who is calling on my day off?!" She rolled over and grabbed her phone. The caller ID said 'Pat".
"Hey brother, whats up?" She answered sleepily.
"Hey do you mind coming over for a few?"
"Uhh, sure..just give me a little bit."
"Sounds good...see you in a little bit"

She hung up the phone and sat up on the side of the bed.
She picked up her phone and noticed it was only 845 in the morning.
"Guess I better get dressed and head over"
She got up and grabbed a pair of jeans and a tshirt. She jumped in the shower quick and got all cleaned up. Got dressed, grabbed her stuff and headed out.
As she got to the car, her phone rang again...without looking she just answered.
"Yeah, I am on my way ..."
The other end was silent for a moment then he answered.
"Um okay? On you way where?"
It suddenly clicked that it wasn't Pat on the other end.
"Omg I'm sorry...I thought you was another friend of mine...he wanted me to drop by and that was like an hour and half ago" She said as she looked at the time on her phone.
"Oh! I was just checking in. Hadn't talked to you in a few days. Just wanted to make sure everything was good."
She smiled. It was nice having someone call her first for a change.
"I'm doing okay. Just don't know what Pat wants and I got an odd feeling about it."
He never felt right about any of her friends but he was going to let her come to that on her own. They weren't good for her but he couldn't tell her who she could or couldn't be around.
"Well, if you need me..just call and I'll come running"
"Thanks Mr charming" She giggled.
"Again, that nickname doesn't suit me"
"And I said embrace it!" She laughed
"Fine fine..but only you can call me that and don't dare introduce me as that" He laughed with her.
"No promises on the second part hehe ...oh! I'm here so I'll call you after? We can grab lunch if you want..." She trailed off some. "I mean unless you're busy then I can just..."
"Trinny! Hey! I would love to. I like spending time with you ...so please don't feel like you have to sell yourself to get company"
She smiled. "Thanks! I appreciate that...and I am sorry. Working on myself is a doozy and you're the only one who understands"...
She stiffened some when she noticed a car pull in behind her.
"What...the actual...crap!"
"Whats wrong?! You just got there!"
"Pat is being sneaky...I'll call when I'm done..but just in case...here is the address and if you don't hear something in two hours..call me please"
He felt uneasy. Something was off. He knew that but he didn't want to seem paranoid.
"Sure thing! Please be careful!"
"Will do..I'll talk to you soon!"
She hung up the phone and got out of her car.
Pat came out as she was walking up to the porch.
"Thought you wasn't gonna show" He said as he lit a cigarette.
"I had to take a shower and such. Was to tired from work last night so didn't do it then."
"Ah okay. Well, I hope you don't mind but I asked John over to. Wanted to talk to you both." He said as he sat down on one of the chairs.
"Um, I guess not. I mean I hadn't spoken to him since he came and got his crap and he fussed at me." Trinity said as she sat down in the chair across from him.
John walked up on the porch. He was acting all nice and smiley. Putting on a show in front of everyone was what he did best. It was something she never really realized how well he played everyone until after everything went down. She got played at well.
"Hey Pat! Sorry just gott off work."
She hated how he made sure to single her out. He could've just said 'hey guys or just hey' but no...he made sure that she knew he wasn't speaking to her.
Pat waved a hand up. "Okay, so we got to talk about this thing with you two"
"What about it? We both moved on" Trinity said as she fidgeted with her bag. "We have made our decision"
"I just don't want your guys' decision to cause problems in the group"
"I'm not the one who has been singling out a certain person" John said as he shifted his eyes towards Trinity.
"I haven't said anything about her or you. Not my fault Anna and Zach doesn't like her."
Pat sighed heavily "I'm not gonna tolerate any fighting here at my place"
"I wasn't fighting I was just stating my part but whatever" Trinity sat back defeated. She already knew how this was going to play out.
She got jolted out of her thoughts as John's phone rang.
"I'll be back. Gotta bring Marie some lunch at work." He started down the steps...Trinity watched him get into his car and drive away. When she looked back towards her car, she saw Loki standing by her door. Watching intently at what was going on.
"What is he here for? Oh god I hope he doesn't say nothing to Pat" She was thinking to herself. She noticed Loki just leaned back against her car and she sighed a sigh of relief.
Pat clearing his throat brought her back to the present.
"Well, why he's gone. Let me ask you a question. Do you have a problem with Marie?"
Trinity gripped her bag tight. "Um not really. I mean I don't want to be her friend anymore but I will be civil towards her."
"Okay good. Because she's going to be apart of this group now and I don't want any issues stated"
"Well, won't be any from me."
"And you and John are civil?"
"For the most part yes, when there is people around..." She tensed up remembering certain scenarios in her head.
She also noticed that Loki now stood up and was staring right at them.
"Okay sounds good" Pat said completely ignoring the "when people are around " bit.
Trinity stood up and stretched. "Do you need me anymore? I promised a friend a lunch date and he's waiting on me".
Pat whipped his head up when she said 'he'. "Whose this guy? Whats his name?"
"He's a um friend from work...and his name is Loki"
Her phone rang as she said his name. She looked at it. "Oh speaking of, this is him..."
"Hey Loki!" She said trying to not sound to enthusiastic or else Pat would want to talk to him.
"Hey...um things looked intense so I called. You okay?"
"Oh yeah I was just finishing up here...I'll meet you soon."
She hung up then phone and it took all he had to not rush up to the porch. He didn't like how Pat intimidated her. He didn't like him at all, but all he could do at the moment was be here for her.
Pat got up and looked out towards her car. "Would that be your date?" He nodded towards Loki.
"Oh yeah, that's him. He met me here because we got a reservation."
She started to head down the steps and Pat followed behind.
"You guys should stop back by. Let me get to know him." Pat said, trying to sound all tough.
Trinity turned to face him. "Um maybe. Not sure what he has planned and we just friends so no need to introduce him yet"
"But there is a yet?" Pat said as he folded his arms looking at her.
"We shall see..." She said as she turned around and headed to her car. "I'll see you later!"
Loki kept his eyes on Pat until he turned and went back inside.
She walked up and just grabbed Loki in a tight hug.
"I am not sure why but thank you for coming and watching out" She hugged him tighter as he wrapped his arms around her.
"I told you I got you. And honestly, I don't trust him..and I don't especially trust John.."
"I just want all this to be over with." "Everyone wants me to be okay with it but I am not okay. I won't ever be just okay with it. Even after I'm done "over it". He took 10 years of my life without a second thought. She took advantage of the whole best friend relationship and used me. It would've hurt a lot less if she just bypassed the whole best friend thing and just went straight for John. But no, she had to also take advantage. I ...I...will not and won't just be okay with it." She sighed heavily and just stood there hugging Loki. Listening to his heartbeat and feeling safe.
He stood there holding her. He ran his hand through her hair.
"And that's okay..you have no obligation to just be okay with it...and anyone who has an issue with it can deal with me once your sassy side has a chance"
She laughed at that. And he smiled and bought her to face him. "There is my smile...now let's go have lunch and we can finish talking if you want or just be odd and strange" He laughed and opened her car door.
She couldn't help but laugh too "why thank you Mr. Charming" She smirked at him...
"Haha now that's gonna cost you..." He playfully started poking her and making her laugh.
"Noooo haha OK OK I'm sorry...it won't happen again..." Loki stopped and looked at her ..."oh wait..I lied...Mr charming...haha" She said as she quickly playfully pushed him back to close her door...
He just shook his head and went and got on the other side. "Fine you win this time...but I promise I will get you"
"Uh huh ...keep telling yourself that" She giggled as she drove them to their lunch date

During the whole altercation, Pat was watching from his window.
"Hmm interesting..." He said as they drove away. He reached for his phone and texted John. "We might have a problem."
