"Let visit Doctor Marcelo once more Samuel" Detective D Spoke in a determined tone, Back at mystic Shadow hospital , Detective D and Samuel were greeted by the doctor's receptionist. "I'm afraid the doctor is with a patient right now," she said apologetically. "He should be available in about fifteen minutes. Can I get you anything to drink while you wait?", "No, thank you," Detective D said. "We'll just wait here."
Samuel nodded in agreement. They both took a seat in the waiting room and waited patiently for the doctor to become available. Detective D took the opportunity to review his notes, trying to make sense of the bizarre case they were working on.
Doctor Marcelo appeared shocked to see Detective D again ,Doctor Marcelo's eyes widened immediately he saw Detective D and Samuel sitting in the waiting room. He quickly ushered them into his office, closing the door behind them. "What are you doing here?" he asked, a note of panic in his voice. "I thought I told you to leave this alone."
Detective D's face was stony. "We're not going to let this go, Doctor," he said. "We know there's something strange going on, and we're going to get to the bottom of it. "The doctor's expression turned pleading. "Please, you have to understand," he said "We promised to protect you didn't we?" Detective D Said reassuring "Yes, you did," Doctor Marcelo said. "But this is beyond anything I could have imagined. I don't know what's going on, and I'm scared."
Detective D softened his tone. "I know this is frightening, but we're here to help," he said. "We just need you to be honest with us. Can you tell us everything you know about Fredrickson?" Doctor Marcelo sighed and then nodded. "I'll tell you what I know," he said. "But I'm warning you, it's not going to be easy to hear".
"Don't worry Dr Marcelo it our job" Samuel replied "All right," Doctor Marcelo said, steeling himself. "I first heard about Fredrickson about six months ago. One of my patients, a man named Edward, came to me with some very strange symptoms. He was experiencing blackouts, and he was having strange dreams that he couldn't explain. I tried to help him, but nothing I did seemed to work."
Detective D's interest was piqued. "What kind of strange dreams was he having?" he asked."He described a dark figure, a man in a cloak, who would visit him in his dreams," Doctor Marcelo said. "A tall dark figure you say " Detective D said curiously"That's right," Doctor Marcelo said. "He said the figure would stand in the corner of his room, just watching him. And then he would speak to him, telling him that he needed to make a deal in order to be rewarded. Edward told me that he didn't know what the figure meant by that, but it terrified him."
"So what did you do?" Samuel asked, his curiosity piqued as well. "I referred him to friend another psychiatrist," Doctor Marcelo said. "But before he could see him, he disappeared."
Detective D's eyes widened. "Disappeared !!! What about the other three patient you mentioned the last time I was here" Detective D asked "They had similar experiences," Doctor Marcelo said. "They all described the same dark figure in their dreams and they all told me about this idea of a deal. They also all disappeared before they could see the psychiatrist."
"This is getting weirder and weirder," Samuel said, shaking his head. "What do you think is going on?", "I honestly don't know," Doctor Marcelo said. "But I'm worried that it might be something supernatural. And if it is, I'm afraid we might be in danger."
Detective D took a deep breath. "We'll figure this out I think the best way to understand this situation is to meet with patients " "That's a good idea," Doctor Marcelo said. "But I don't know where any of them are. They all just vanished without a trace."
"We'll start with Edward," Detective D said. "Maybe we can find some clues to his whereabouts at his home." "I can give you his address," Doctor Marcelo said, reaching for a file on his desk. "But I'm not sure it will do any good. I doubt there will be anything there."
"We have to try," Detective D said, his determination evident. "I'm not going to give up until we find out whatgoing on, giving up is not an option and if we don't solve this, who will " "You're right," Doctor Marcelo said, a hint of admiration in his voice. "I admire your tenacity, Detective D. I just hope we're not getting in over our heads."
"I appreciate your concern," Detective D said. "But I believe we can handle whatever comes our way ,we just have to stay focused and follow the evidence wherever it leads." Doctor Marcelo came with Edward address
Samuel nodded in agreement. "We're in this together," he said. "We'll get to the bottom of this, no matter what it takes."Detective D and Samuel headed for Edward's address, their minds racing with questions. They pulled up to a small house on the outskirts of town, and got out of the car. The house looked empty, the windows dark and the yard overgrown.
"This doesn't look promising," Detective D said, his voice heavy with disappointment.
"It's worth checking out anyway," Samuel said, his optimism undimmed. "We need to be thorough if we're going to solve this", "You're right," Detective D said, nodding. "Let's go inside and see what we can find."
They approached the house, the front door was unlocked, which struck Detective D as odd. He and Samuel exchanged a glance, then cautiously pushed the door open and stepped inside. The house was dark and silent and a chill hung in the air.
"This feels really wrong," Samuel whispered, his voice trembling. "Stay close," Detective D said, his hand resting on his gun. "And keep your eyes open for anything out of the ordinary."
They moved slowly through the house, their footsteps echoing on the hardwood floors. The only sound was the creak of the old floorboards and it made the hairs on the back of their stand, they met a man in his thirties chained up inside ,the man was huddled in a corner, his eyes wide with fear. He was covered in dirtand there were bruises on his face and arms. A chain was wrapped around his neck, and it was attached to the wall. He looked up at them, recognition dawning in his eyes.
"Please," he said, his voice hoarse and trembling. "Help me. I've been here for days, and I'm so scared". "We're going to get you out of here," Detective D said, his heart breaking at the sight of the man's terror. "We're going to get you out of here, Samuel get me that hammer"
Samuel handed him the hammer as he broke chains and hurried the man outside the door, as the man stood on the front porch, he took a deep breath, the fresh air filling his lungs. He looked up at Detective D, tears streaming down his face. "Thank you," he said, his voice trembling. "I thought I was going to die in there."
"It's okay," Detective D said, placing a hand on the man's shoulder. "You're safe now. We're going to take care of you."he man nodded, trying to steady his breathing. "What's going to happen to me?" he asked, his voice breaking. "Where am I going to go?"
"You are going to met Doctor Marcelo he will take care of you but before then will have some questions, are you Edward James?"
