While no one liked the idea, the plan they had just created was their best chance, then a plastic bag covered in compulsion spells and mist flames was attached to Althea's arm just below her elbow.

Exactly where her counterpart had a certain scar and the woven illusions will allow that she was only injured in that place.

It wasn't easy to decide not to talk about the plan with the Pendragons, but Althea knew well that they wouldn't let her proceed alone, but the weight of the box weapon in her suit pocket had reassured her and after writing to Tsuna and Kyo-kun she headed towards the quidditch pitch.

Ready to face the third task and mark the first conscious difference between their future and the future that wasn't.

Althea woke up in the cemetery tied to a gravestone.

She had succeeded, she had taken the portkey on her own, Cedric had survived.

But now she was tied to a gravestone in a ghostly graveyard, there was a light mist emanating from the huge cauldron, and in front of it controlling the fire was wormtail who had escaped the aurors.

"It's ready, my lord" he squeaked in fear.

"Move then!" said a cold voice, high pitched from the bundle.

Wormtail picked up the bundle to reveal the most hideous child there was, skin white as a corpse, no hair, and evil red eyes.

Wormtail threw the abomination into the cauldron, then closed his eyes and pointed his wand at the tomb to which Althea was bound and intoned into the night "father's bone, given without his knowledge, you will renew the son!"

The tomb split and a thin thread of dust rose up to fall into the crystalline liquid which turned a poisonous blue.
Suddenly wormtail whimpered and pulled a long thin silver dagger from his robe.

He held out his right hand in front of him over the cauldron and recited sobbing "flesh...of the servant...given with assent...you will renew...your lord."

With an inhuman scream the severed hand fell into the cauldron and the potion turned a burning red.

Then Wormtail came panting to Althea, dagger in hand and felt it press into the crook of her right arm, destroying the pouch, blood pooling on the blade and illusions making it appear as if Althea was wounded.

Wormtail returned to the cauldron and Althea was relieved as she heard the last part of the ritual, it wasn't her blood that he had taken, but the blood they had stolen from Dumbledore that afternoon, making him think he had hurt himself, "e-enemy's blood...taken by force...you will resurrect...your adversary."

And as the blood fell into the cauldron wormtail said "the dark lord will rise again."

The potion began to boil and suddenly a dazzling light covered the cemetery, then disappeared to reveal a huddled adult suspended in mid air, black steam surrounded him forming a black robe and he placed his feet on the ground.

Tall and skeletal, whiter than a skull, with large red eyes, pupils and a serpentine face...

Voldemort was resurrected.

Oh god, how much she hated monologues, Voldemort had summoned the death eaters and now he was off to a flying start with a monologue on the purity of blood, the plague of muggles, the night he became a pure spirit and his return.

And no one had noticed that she was loosening the ropes.

Pathetic, first you shoot and then you monologue, the evil overlord list also said so. Seriously with such an ego and the backwardness of the community it was no wonder that the english were ridiculed, if Voldemort thought he was scaring her he was very wrong, Byakuran scared her much more than him (aside from the fact her counterpart was not a fighter, the reason why she never left the safe zones was that since the day she had prepared dessert for a meeting with the millefiore Byakuran he was determined to marry her, the fact that even though she was broken the possible children would still inherit the flames of heaven was the icing on the cake for him), ok it wasn't scary it terrified her. (he loved trying to grope her breasts, it was the reason Hibari of the future was always so murderous towards him, and the reason why he and Xanxus had become friends, together they had tried several times to eliminate him).
