Once I got to work, I tried to keep positive. "Why are you so worried about Lindsay?"

"I know how Danny is, Micah. He promised that he has changed, but a man can't turn down a hot woman."

Katy shook her head. "I know what happened in the past, Valentina and I can understand why you feel the way that you do, but he may have truly changed."

"I felt that way multiple times, and where has that gotten me? He ended up cheating on me."

Suddenly, I noticed Anthony and another employee talking to a short red head. "I guess that's her." Micah whispered.

"She is kind of pretty." I mumbled.

Micah raised her eyebrows. "Not really. I would rank her 4.5 out of 10 in terms of her looks."

"Well, you never know. Danny may end up finding her attractive."

"I truly doubt that, Valentina."

"I guess there's only one way to find out."

After Danny got to work, I saw the girl follow Anthony to his office. "Oh, god."

I wanted to keep positive but after everything he has done, it's hard to not make an assumption of what he is capable of.

Danny

"So, Jack gave you a job?"

Lindsay nodded. "I've been doing this for several years and I've heard many good things about this company."

Anthony looked at me and shrugged. "Well, there's an open desk for the time being. We will give you an opportunity, however... if you do anything to violate any rules here, we will have to let you go."

"Of course."

"Your desk is on the second floor, Laura will take you there."

After Lindsay left, I shook my head. "Hiring her was a mistake."

Anthony raised his eyebrows. "Why?"

"Because I could see the way she was looking at me. I know why she's really here."

"Just don't fuck up your reputation, Danny. Valentina gave you another chance and I wouldn't blow it this time."

"I don't plan on it. I love her and I was stupid to leave her in the first place."

By the time our lunch break came, I saw Lindsay walking towards us. "Hi! Do you guys mind if I sit with you?"

I looked at Micah and sighed. "Yeah, I guess."

"Thanks!"

After looking at her, I slightly agreed with Micah that she wasn't as attractive as I thought but in the back of my mind, I knew that Danny could make the mistake of giving in again. "How's your first day so far?"

I was trying to be friendly to keep my mind off of Danny, but it was pretty damn hard. "Good! Mr. Esposito is so hot!"

Katy looked at me and raised her eyebrows. "I think you should focus on working."

Lindsay looked at Katy and scowled. "Are you kidding? He's the main reason why I'm here! I've heard a lot of good things about him."

"I wouldn't focus on men here, this company needs to maintain a good reputation."

"So? It still doesn't mean I can't look at him. I sure wish I could trade desks with one of you guys just to be closer to him."

Katy rolled her eyes. "He's nothing special, Lindsay. He is also married."

Lindsay laughed. "So? Doesn't mean that I can't get him to sleep with me."

"He has a wife and kids."

"Wouldn't be my first time hooking up with a married man."

Katy could tell I was about to say something, but I did everything I could to keep my comments to myself.

I could feel my blood boiling after lunch, and I was feeling beyond pissed off. "She would not shut the fuck up about Danny."

Katy shook her head. "He loves you, Valentina and he knows better than to make another mistake."

"Maybe, but I know how Danny is. I am not trying to fully blame you, but look at what happened."

Katy nodded. "It was my fault, Valentina. I made the first move and he fell for it. I still hate myself for it and I am so sorry for what I did."

"Katy, it's okay. We are past that now but I just don't know. Danny has broken many promises and he may repeat his behavior."

"If he was smart enough, he would know better not to do anything."

"I sure hope not."

Seeing Lindsay throughout the rest of the day trying to speak to Danny only pissed me off even more but I had to push away all of the negative thoughts out of my head. Danny knows if he fucks up again that it's over. Especially if it's with a new employee.
