Niko POV
The second I walked into that cell and saw Paul curled up next to her, my rage was set on fire in a way I never knew before. I couldn't move a muscle in my body because the only thing I wanted was to rip that man's arms off his body.
She lay there perfectly asleep, looking like a total mess with a little girl and boy cuddled in her arms. I didn't like her down here, and I didn't like that Paul was always comforting her.
I didn't want to hold her, despite my fingers twitching at my side to snatch her out of that bed. She needed comfort, and Paul was actually helping her. Could I remove him from her life, and she still be ok? I knew the answer was no. She wasn't ok even with him here, but she was happier.
The second I got her upstairs in the shower, all I wanted was to take her bare body under the water with mine. I feigned to feel her skin, which only added to my frustration.
I was jealous of Paul and now pining over her body. What the fuck is wrong with me? I never cared for a woman's interest in me ever in my life.
Then she looked at me like she was afraid I would hurt her. I wanted to take her body, but I wouldn't do it by force. She was pissing me off when I have proven this to her multiple times already. I ripped her dress, and fuck, her skin was bare and right in my grasp to touch.
When she said I was scaring her, my hand came to her cheek, and the only thing I wanted was to comfort her. I blurted out the truth about my rage from seeing Paul lying next to her, then left. My anger wasn't at her, or even Paul, it was at me. I wanted her, but I had no idea how to make her mine.
I went back downstairs, stopping at my office to beat the shit out of Anthony for taking these kids, then had him leave. I couldn't deal with him in my house, and I obviously had no qualms with using him as my literal punching bag.
By the time I cleaned up and made it to breakfast, Vivian was already seated next to the boy again. Her hair was soaking wet, but at least her body was covered. Paul was showing them some stupid magic trick, and I grunted at how good he was with them. Vivian fucking ate it up, laughing at his jokes.
The second I sat down, everyone went silent. No smiles or laughter, just fear. That was usually how I liked it, but it wasn't sitting right with me now. They were kids, and Viv had never feared me before. Maybe a little, but not like this. I knew her fear was more from what she prayed I didn't do to the little girl and boy. Either way, I didn't like my presence stopping their laughter.
"Did everyone eat?" I asked before shoving half a slice of French toast in my mouth. I was fucking starving before I let loose on Anthony. Now, I was ravished.
"Yes, thank you, Sir." The little girl spoke. My eyes met hers, and she shrank down some in her seat.
"I won't hurt you or your brother if you're good. No trying to attack anyone with your fork and no trying to run away. Can you both do that?" I asked, diverting my eyes to the little fucker. I knew the girl would be no problem, but he was in survival mode. I saw it in his eyes; he would go to any length to protect his sister.
"Yes, sir. I promise." The little girl gave me a full smile, and it almost made me smile. Kids never smiled at me before.
"I'll listen for now, but if you or your men touch my sister, I will slit your throat while you sleep." The boy's eyes grew darker. A small smirk tugged at my lips. He was a little shit, but his courage to protect his sister was admirable.
"I could remove your tongue for speaking to my Capo like that!" Gio chimed in from behind the table. That man was always lurking around, waiting for the perfect moment to ruin.
