Timeless

You've always felt familiar to me,
Like I've known you forever,
And I know I have,
In a past life,
Where we were merely wandering souls,
Tied together.

But our bodies were never meant to touch,
As much as our souls were pulling closer to each other,
It wasn't written for this lifetime.

Oh, but my heart and soul know,
In the hereafter, our souls will unite,
And all the pieces will fall into their rightful place,

Just not in this lifetime,
But for you, I'd wait countless lifetimes.
