Champions trophy
India vs Pakistan
The Oval
London

He looked at the score board and he knew, he knew that they are losing a final again, that too against Pakistan? it's so... so politically incorrect. The loss, the aftermath, the backlash they might already be facing if they opened their social media right now, virat deserved this trophy has an caption, they deserved it has an team but no, their luck never supports them. No matter what they do right now the match as gone out of their hands, they lost again, this were the only thoughts running in his head. He was so lost in his thoughts, one thing you're warned to never do when you're at field, especially on the non striker end.

He saw hardik hitting the ball and his gaze followed the ball not realizing that hardik ran for a run until it was too late. "JADDU!" hardik yelled and his feet seems to froze at their place, he couldn't move. There wasn't any run here the ball was in fielders hands. He should have gave his wicket and saved hardik's but he was too late, too too late.

Hardik was run out or more specifically he got him run out. "ARE YOU FREAKING BLIND?!" he yelled and stromed off from there cursing him. Now he knew the 00.01% of chance of winning this match is also gone from their hands and guess what?... just because of him.

Ash came down to bat and patted his back, a silent way of saying 'It's okay, everything will be alright'. His mind was a mess, mess of thoughts making him unable to concentrate on anything resulting a loss of another wicket, his wicket.

He felt a shiver run down his spine even at the thought of facing his team, he didn't dared to look up from the ground and silently made his towards the dressing room.

When he came back to the dressing room it was unusually quite, no one talked with each other or even looked and he knew he was the reason for all this.

He quitely got changed and sat down on the bench away from everyone, staring at the floor like it was the most interesting thing in the world. He can feel himself getting glared and even thou he knew who it was he didn't dared to look at that person.

He closed his eyes trying to dislocate himself but the silence and tension thick in the air didn't let him and soon the last wicket felt, the defeated sighs and the silence was getting unbearable for him.

They could have won it, only if...

They all went down to do all the formalities and interviews and it was the worst interview he had ever given. He kept his hands on his thighs trying to hide the tremors before it was finally over and he was allowed to leave. He silently made his way towards their bus like everyone and sat in the seat furtherest away from everyone.

It was the most silent bus ride he ever had with his team, maybe if hardik stayed till the end it could have been different?

When they reached hotel people were already out there hotel cursing them mostly him for the run out and jassi for the no ball but that wasn't that much as Rohit and Ms pulled jassi away from the crowd quickly.

He felt like they were waiting for this, for their loss to insult them, make fun of them, troll them.

He was the last one to step out from the bus and the crowd was literally waiting for him, that's what he felt like, as he stepped down from the bus.

He didn't had any time to stop or listen to anything much as he was ushered inside the hotel by security quickly, he was alone. No one even stopped or turned back to even check on him. Maybe they hate him now?

When he reached inside almost everyone was busy consoling jassi, he looked at his shivering hands and quickly put them inside the pocket and made his way towards the room, not like anyone would notice him.

"In the team room, in an hour" he heard virat saidsking his body shiver, 'here comes the most dreading part' he thought. The team meeting after every win and loss, where they would be either celebrating or consoling eachother. Everyone mumbled a small okay making their way to their room.

Ash entered the room quietly behind him and he was so glad for that, a quiet and understanding roommate was all he needed right now. "You okay?" Ash asked while keeping his kitbag on his place but he knew all his attention was on him. "Yeah" he murmured out with all his strength.

"Can I take a shower first, please?" he asked but it came out more like plead making him wince at his own vulnerability. "Sure" ash replied with a smile not questioning anything and he was so so glad for that.

He quickly grabbed his towel and clothes and was about to step inside bathroom when he heard ash saying "It's okay, mistake happens" he looked back and gave him the best reassuring smile he could utter "I know" he said or more like whispered.

He came out more than hour later, he didn't knew he was in there for so long all he knew and remembered was the burning sensation he felt while showering with that hot water. So hot that his skin had turned into bright shade of pink, ash might dobut him if he went out like this so he took an ice cold shower before he finally stepped out.

"Joining the team meeting?" Ash asked already showered and changed, must have went to some others room to freshen up. He looked away feeling guilty, he should have thought about it, ash must be waiting for him to come outside.

"Jaddu?" he called him cutting of his train of thoughts. "Can I go to bed? I am tierd" he replied, he can't face them right now he is too tired for that, ash nodded in understanding "Okay. Good night" he said giving him a reassuring pat on his back and a smile conveying 'Everything will be alright'.

"About the meeting-" he started but ash cut him off "Don't worry I will inform, take rest" he said and grabbed his phone making his way towards the door. "Yeah" he murmured having a weird feeling, why is he treating him so gently? Especially after what he did today. "Thanks" he said finally before ash closed the door after him.

He sat on the bed staring at the blank space when he heard his phone ping. He grabbed his phone from the night stand and saw the notification, it was hardik, he tweeted something

He felt a burning sensation at the back of his eyes, he knew it was for him, he tweeted it for him, he was sure even thou he didn't tagged him

He felt a burning sensation at the back of his eyes, he knew it was for him, he tweeted it for him, he was sure even thou he didn't tagged him.

He must be hating him so much right now...

He accidentally clicked on the thread and before he could back off some comments caught his eyes, it was about him and the run out. He scrolled and scrolled throu the twitter and as he expected people were trolling him badly, brutally to be exact.

Still he couldn't stop his scrolling, he kept reading all the negative and hate comments about him, loosing track of time and ended up Scrolling social media throughout the night.

He wanted, he needed ash to come back or someone to check on him atleast for formality, but no one did. Why would they anyway? They just lost something so precious..... just because of him.
