"It's really quiet today." I looked to the cashier and saw one of my employees slump on her knuckles, staring at the front door's welcome mat.
She's been mumbling for a while, saying she's bored out of her brains. Sometimes, those who get as easily bored as she could make something you'd normally not be capable of in the beginning.
A sour, bored appearance drew on her face, making me chuckle.
Looking to the window on my right, a light glinted before it lit up the whole bakery café. I smiled unknowingly before the bell on the door rang, indicating that a customer had come. Walking out of the door were two people I knew, they looked familiar with each other and were happily tuned in their conversation. One of them saw me, a smile widening on their lip, before running towards where I stood, just next to the counter.
"Joell!" I smiled back, getting a juice box and handing it to 'em. With great relief and happiness, the juice bottle was squeezed and sucked dry before it was basketed in the trash can. The individual looked at me with a glint of light in their eyes and lips wet from the juice. I knew what was coming.
"Can I get another one?" Just as I got the juice bottle to hand it.
"Here you go," I give one to him as well. He shook both his hands and head, left and right, despite looking like he really wanted to take the juice box.
"It's fine, Ryi, come here now, don't shy away." Mena gestured for, who I came to know as our guest's name is Ryi, to come closer and take it himself. Hastily, he took it and nodded a 'thank you.'
"Free of charge. Ryi," I smiled welcomely. He was shocked and thanked me louder. I brushed it off. How cute. It's the same guy we sheltered yesterday.
I remember back to yesterday, the loud raindrops that pooled the floor, buildings, and other objects; the roof of cars and umbrellas, as if making a track with the droplets sound.
"So, what do we do with him after he gets better?" Both Mena and I blurted at the same time, chuckling when our eyes met, but kept quiet because the guy was sleeping in the room. We didn't want to come to a rushed decision just yet, since we don't know anything about him.
"He should sleep first..." I nodded, agreeing with her.
"Let's not disturb his beauty sleep," I look behind, at Mena, to sneak a funny face after I had walked in front of her, she dared not laugh, but surely nodding with the laugh in her throat.
At last, the door was closed - clack - slowly and surely so as not to have alarmed him awake.
The café is almost full, and many people tend to come here most on rainy days. Many people don't scatter the streets or sidelines when it rains so much, and it doesn't overlay crowd so it makes it all the more comfortable.
I just remembered. I needed to talk to Mena about her phone, but when I looked behind me, I couldn't find her. The phone had been buzzing nonstop the entire time, and I was growing frustrated. In hopes, I walked back to where I had hidden the phone, the notification was silent; only to be surprised that this arrogant guy is still spamming her!
He should've thought about what he was doing if he didn't want to go through the trouble of paperwork and jail for this kind of behavior. I have great evidence of him harassing her online; he would blackmail her into nude photos, have her harm herself, and even go worse than that!
Having had enough of this nonsense, I logged into her phone and threatened him nicely:
