Chapter 7- I Always Come Back

(Y/N POV)

"Wither and decay......
End this destiny....
Break these earthly chains...
And set the spirit free...
The spirit free...."
I heard a familiar voice singing

I felt like I was being freed from the ember that trapped me

"(Y/N)! DAD!"
.....Varian?....
I opened my eyes a little and saw...
Rapunzel...and her hair going from black to blonde?
Then she fell to the ground
And Varian rushed to help her
When he made sure she was okay he ran up to Quirin

"Dad! you're alive!"
Varian said but realized the note Quirin wrote was gone
"The letter....What was in there?"

"All it said was....Im proud of you, Varian"
Quirin said and they hugged again

"(Y/N)!!!"
Then Varian ran up to me and hugged me
I wasn't mad at him anymore, my anger was long gone

Buuuuut, I did yelp when he hugged me
"V-Varian...my limbs are still numb"
I struggled to say
And Varian let go of me immediately

"Oh sorry!"
Varian laughed nervously

I managed to crawl out of the ember
And Varian helped me up
I looked at him and hugged him
"Im so happy for you V, You have Quirin back and-"

"I finally got you back"
Varian said softly as he broke the hug
Then he moved a loose piece of my hair away from my face

"WOULD YOU TWO KISS ALREADY?"
Rapunzel called out 

"Pardon me, WHAT?!"
Quirin asked shocked and in disbelief

Me and Varian looked at each other
Our faces slowly inched closer
And we closed the gap between us

After a few seconds that seemed like years
We pulled away
"I love you Varian"
"I love you too (Y/N)"

The four of us stepped outside, I had a cup of water in my hand
And I gasped in amazement
The village looked as good as new
And there were no more stones!

"What happened here"
Quirin asked shocked
Meanwhile I started drinking my water

"You two were trapped for a year"
Varian said
And I started choking on my water

"A YEAR?!
Varian... you have to tell me EVERYTHING" 

"But aside from that we are safe and-"

"We arent safe"
Rapunzel said
Tears threatening to fall

"Cassandra...She...She is dangerous
And is threatening Corona
She took the MoonStone"
Rapunzel said shakily

"Is this the other part of the scroll? With the darkness and-"

"Yes.."
Varian answered
I heard Rapunzel take a deep breath

"Quirin, I need you to come with me
We have to settle some stuff in the castle
And Varian, make sure (Y/N) is caught up with everything"

"Of course, Rapunzel"
Varian said 
And Rapunzel and Quirin left

"So...do you want to sit somewhere? There is a lot to take in"
Varian asked a little nervous

"Oh sure, lets go under a tree"
I said and dragged him over there

We were sitting under the tree
The breeze brushing against our hair

"So what happened after I 'left'"
I ask breaking the silence

"Where do I begin..."
Varian sighed

"Okay so, I lashed out on the royal family with an Automaton I controlled
I claimed that if I couldn't have a happy ending then
Neither could them
And I did manage to hurt Cassandra and The Queen.."
Varian looked away
But I stayed silent and waited for him to continue

"Rapunzel somehow managed to control the black rocks
And stopped me
Then I was thrown into jail...."
Varian said and I moved a string of his hair out of his eyes.

"Not your proudest memories?"
I tried to joke

"Yeah"
Varian laughed awkwardly

"So, I was told that the black rocks lead Rapunzel to her destiny
Which was in The Dark Kingdom where the Moonstone was,
And her destiny was to merge the Sundrop and Moonstone"
Varian kept explaining

"So if Rapunzel merged the two
Would she have...died...?"
I asked a little worried 

"Nobody knows, Its part of her destiny, after all.
Or at least...that's what we thought"

"And after a while
Rapunzel reached The Dark Kingdom
Rapunzel was going to take the Moonstone but Cassandra took it
She claimed it was HER destiny.
And she pretty much shood everyone from 
The Dark Kingdom"

"Oh!
So you are telling me OUR Cassandra became a villain?"
I asked 

"Mhm"

"Oh wow..."

"Yeah, but in that adventure
Rapunzel learned the Decay Incantation
Which is the one that freed you and dad
Rapunzel knew the risk she was taking when she used it
She still did it..."
Varian smiled a little

"Im thankful for that
But what happened to you?"
I asked, although a little scared of the answer

"I uh....I joined a few criminals that were with me in a cell
We managed to get out and our plan was to concer Corona
The plan was to erase everyone's memories
And of course I took care of the scientific parts
We managed to erase the memories from the King and Queen with  MaGiCaL wand
And I was working to make a mist that would spread all around Corona and make people forget what I...What I had done"
Varian said looking away

"Soon, Rapunzel came back and tried to stop us

So I was forced to rush the progress
But it turned out to be explosive
And before I knew it
They were trying to use it to destroy Corona
But then I remembered what you say
'Don't let the anger from your past define your future' "
Varian said as he looked up at the sky and smiled

I hugged him

"I will say this a million times
Im SOOOO proud of you!"
I said as I kissed his cheek
And he giggled

"You should have seen what i wore
It was like a bunch of things stuffed together
I even drew a beard on my chin!

I looked ridiculous!"
Varian waved his hands around and we couldnt help but laugh

"And by the way
I think we need a new look"
Varian said as he gestured to his overall and blueish shirt

"Oh! I know a great place we can go to!"
I said as I stood up and helped him up

"I dont know
I mean, they should hate me for what i did"
Varian said as he scratched the back of his neck

"V, who cares what other people say!
My love for you is WAAAAYYYY much valuable than a stranger hate"
I said and pretty much I rushed him to Corona

"Alright alright Im walking!"
Varian said with the CUTEST smile EVER!
