Weeks turned into months, and with each passing day, the bond between Ahalya and Ashwath grew deeper. Their connection became a beautiful tapestry of shared moments, from casual dinners at charming restaurants to walks under the stars, and from late-night phone calls to spontaneous weekend adventures. The joy they found in each other's company seemed endless, their laughter filling the quiet spaces between them, making each moment feel even more meaningful.

Their love transcended physical meetings; it was a constant thread in their lives. Whether Ashwath was at work or off-duty, Ahalya was always on his mind, and their conversations carried on seamlessly from morning to night. Each call brought warmth, each message a promise of togetherness. Ashwath, once the stoic police officer, had found in Ahalya not just love, but a new zest for life. She had become the light in his world.

One day, Ashwath invited Ahalya to his home, hoping to introduce her to the woman who had shaped him—his mother, Ananya. He had spoken of her often, and now it felt like the right time for Ahalya to experience the warmth of his family.

As Ahalya entered, she was greeted by Ananya, who wore a graceful black salwar kameez. Her hands, adorned with delicate bangles, moved with elegance, and her gold chain shimmered in the soft light of the room. The warmth of her smile instantly made Ahalya feel at home.

"Come in, Ahalya. Don't just stand there, beti," Ananya said, pulling her into a loving embrace. "Ashwath has told me so much about you."

Ahalya smiled, feeling the genuine affection in Ananya's voice. "Thank you, Aunty. I’m glad to finally meet you," she replied, her words filled with respect.

As they settled around the dining table, the room was alive with the sounds of family chatter. Anand, Ashwath’s father, turned to Ahalya with a warm smile, "What do you do, beti?"

"I'm a software engineer," Ahalya answered with a smile, enjoying the ease of their conversation.

Anand’s eyes twinkled with amusement. "So you’re soft, and our Ashwath here is the tough cop, eh?"

Ananya, who had been listening from the kitchen, chimed in, "Oh no, he’s always got these jokes! I’ve heard them all before."

Ahalya laughed, appreciating the family’s lightheartedness. "I think it was a good one," she said, her eyes sparkling.

Ashwath, now sitting at the table, leaned back with a smile. "What’s for dinner, Mom? The ‘chef’ is waiting," he teased.

Ananya, turning with a playful glare, said, "Chef? You’ll starve tonight, young man."

"Okay, Mathaji," Ashwath responded with a respectful smile, using a term of endearment, "What’s for dinner then?"

"It’s Ahalya’s favorites tonight," Ananya said, walking back to the table with a dish in hand.
