The dim glow of Ashwath's computer screen flickered, casting sharp shadows across his tired, weathered face as he sat hunched over his desk. The room was a silent cocoon, broken only by the soft hum of the computer and the occasional creak of his chair. Days of sleepless nights weighed heavily on him, the horrific images of the crime scene and the victim's anguished mother haunting him relentlessly.

When the forensics report finally arrived, its arrival punctuated by a heavy thud on his desk, Ashwath’s fingers trembled slightly as he tore open the envelope. The grim details inside only deepened his resolve: the victim’s eyes, heart, and kidneys had been harvested with precision. The surgical nature of the mutilations pointed to something far darker than a random act of violence—a calculated operation linked to the illicit organ trade. His jaw tightened as he stared at the chilling confirmation of his suspicions. The killer had been driven by greed, profiting off the sale of human lives.

Ashwath leaned back in his chair, his mind racing. He had heard whispers of such atrocities—the dark web, a shadowy digital underworld where anything could be bought or sold for the right price. The thought made his blood run cold, but he knew there was no other path forward. With grim determination, he launched the Tor browser, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he entered the virtual labyrinth of the dark web.

Hours bled into one another as he navigated encrypted forums, hidden marketplaces, and illicit chatrooms. The screen’s glow seemed to pulse in rhythm with his heart as he pursued the faintest trail of evidence. Then, finally, his search bore fruit: an underground marketplace specializing in human organs. The listings were cold, clinical, and horrifyingly specific—"Heart: $100,000. Eyes: $50,000 each. Kidneys: $120,000." Ashwath’s stomach churned, but he pressed on, his resolve unshaken.

Among the listings, one seller stood out, operating under the pseudonym KU. Their profile exuded menace, with a history of transactions that painted them as a veteran of this ghastly trade. Ashwath didn’t hesitate. He placed a fake order for a heart, his pulse quickening as he submitted the request. This, he hoped, would bait the monster into revealing themselves.

Just as he began probing deeper into KU’s operations, his computer froze. Panic set in as his mouse refused to respond, the screen flickering erratically like a dying flame. Suddenly, the display went black, leaving Ashwath staring at his own reflection in the dark void of the screen. Then, a line of text appeared, chilling in its simplicity and directness.

"Ashwath Pawar, DGP of Kshaya," the message began, stark white against the black background. "Your interference is noted. If you value the lives of your loved ones, cease your pursuit. This is your only warning."

In a sudden, uncontainable surge of fury, Ashwath's clenched fist crashed into the glass surface of his computer monitor. The screen erupted into a web of cracks, shards of glass scattering across the desk as blood from his knuckles mingled with the fragmented remnants of the shattered device. Crimson droplets splattered onto the keyboard, a visceral reflection of the storm brewing within him.
