Misha's POV:-
I I walked to class, feeling weighed down by the upcoming goodbyes. Meher's farewell still echoed in my heart, creating a lingering pain that seemed to overshadow everything else.
I'll miss her so much .
Yet, I pushed forward, entering the classroom with a forced smile plastered on my face. The last thing I needed was to fall apart in front of everyone and embarrassed myself.
The professor, known for her strict approach and emphasis on punctuality, began the lesson immediately without any small talk.
Despite her efficiency, my thoughts were consumed by Meher. I couldn’t stop replaying our conversation in my mind, feeling a deep sense of regret and longing for more time with her.
The weight of our parting overshadowed everything, making it difficult to focus on anything other than the impending farewell.
Suddenly, the professor's voice jolted me out of my daydream, announcing, "Alright, class, settle down. I have an announcement to make regarding your next project assignment."
A soft murmur spread across the classroom as the professor mentioned project assignments.
Some students sighed in frustration, while others, including me, welcomed the news as a welcome distraction from their own thoughts and worries.
"For this project," the professor continued, her voice cutting through the chatter, "you will be working in pairs. I will assign each of you a partner based on compatibility and complementary skill sets."
Students turned their heads, straining to see who would be paired with whom for the project.
The room was filled with a sense of eager anticipation, making the atmosphere feel thick and heavy.
God ! Now I will also have a partner how am I gonna interact with them.
Being an introvert it's my biggest fear to talk to a new person even though I am in the same class as that person.
"And now, for the pairs," the professor said, pausing for dramatic effect. "First pair is... Sarah Jones and Sid Malhotra..."
The professor called out names one by one, and each announcement brought out different reactions: excited whispers, resigned sighs, and occasional groans of disappointment.
I'm scared with whom I'm gonna paired. And the chances of being paired with him increased as the professor announced the pairs.
Finally, the professor reached the bottom of her list. "And last but not least, we have Vedansh Sharma and Misha Rai."
The announcement caused a shockwave in the room. Everyone gasped, and there was a flurry of surprised looks exchanged among classmates.
