A Few hours later

Meredith had been assessed for ADHD where the psychiatrist diagnosed her with ADHD. Meredith was relieved, she was finally getting answers for about things in her life, and now she could start making changes in her life now she understood what she needed.

She was just waiting for Dr Hope to return with her new prescription and some information about next steps.

"Dr Grey, how are you feeling?" Dr Hope asked entering the room,
"Please call me Meredith, and I'm feeling really good. A little sore but not more than usual and I am so relieved to finally get a diagnosis." Meredith answered,
"I'm glad to here that, Ive for your prescriptions here " Dr Hope explained showing Meredith the multiple contains of pills, "and I have a leaflet here with the instructions on what to take and when as well as information on what each particular medication helps with."
"Thank you," Meredith said smiling,
"And I just wanted to discuss with you the next steps, having a diagnosis is a good thing but now we know what's causing the issues we need to start the process of getting the assistance you need to deal with them." Dr Hope explained pulling up a chair next to Meredith's bed,
"Just to get us started today I want to discuss the basics of what you will need moving forward then as we get further along and add additional appointments and aids where necessary. So you have your medication, which should hopefully help. Then I want you to start having regular visits with me to support you in this, I also need you to start having regular physiotherapy appointments and physical therapist appointments to continue to help your joints as well as regular dermatologist appointments to help with Skin Dermagraphia." Dr Hope explained, pausing for a moment to let Meredith take in all the new information.
"Now would you like me to book your appointments here or would you prefer to do them at your hospital Seattle Grace?" Dr Hope asked,
Meredith paused for a moment, getting here was a bit of a pain and it would probably mean Derek would have to drive her especially if she had physiotherapy or physical therapy because she probably wouldn't be able to driver after that, but if she went to Seattle Grace everyone might find out and while she wasn't ashamed she was also still only in her intern year she didn't want this to affect her future as a surgeon. People have all sorts of judgments and prejudices against people with disabilities and chronic conditions.
"I um..." Meredith stuttered not really sure, "I'll do them here." Meredith said, she was quite sure how she would make them work but she would.
"Ok that sounds great, and did you discuss psychiatry appointments?" Dr Hope asked
"No I didn't she said to ask you," Meredith said,
"Do you want to them here as well?" Dr Hope asked,
Meredith though for a moment, she could hide a psychiatry appointment easier,
"No I'll do them at Seattle grace if possible." She answered honestly,
"That's definitely doable, I will get in contact with them and get you a referral, you may have to go for an appointment there before you start your regular ones but that should be ok." Dr Hope concluded,
"When are you being picked up?" Dr Hope asked checking the time
"Um, what time is it now?" Meredith asked
"2:30 in the afternoon," Dr Hope answered,
"Derek is picking me up at three, so that's perfect." Meredith said smiling, "thank you," she said looking directly at Dr Hope
"You don't need to thank me it's my job Meredith." Dr Hope said smiling,
"No thank you for listening to me and not just brushing me off." Meredith said smiling,
"Your most welcome Meredith but once again it's my job to listen and if other doctors didn't do that that's not right, ok I will go get your discharge papers ready and I will send you a message with your next appointment" Dr Hope said standing up to leave.

An Hour Later,

Meredith was waiting out side of the hospital, she checked the time Derek was meant to pick her up at 3 it was now pass 3:30, where was he.
Just as she was about to go inside, she suddenly heard a car screech into the parking lot.
"Hurry up Meredith, the next game starts soon." Derek yelled from the car
"Sorry sorry I'm coming." Meredith said fumbling to climb into the car. She was quite sore from the tests and so was struggling more than normal but she managed slightly falling into the seat as Derek started to drive away.
"So?" Derek said still looking at the road, "as I suspected just hysteria. Let me guess all those tests just to prove you're a hypochondriac." He said smirking,
"Um no.." Meredith mumbled
"Speak up Meredith," he demanded
"Sorry, no I was diagnosed with three chronic conditions, I have PoTS, EDS and Skin Dermagraphia." Meredith explained, fidgeting with her fingers in her lap.
"I haven't even heard of those," Derek said "and I'm a better doctor than you."
"Um..well your a neurosurgeon these are chronic conditions you wouldn't have much to do with them and there is little research on them at the moment. It actually would have been less when you where in school, so maybe that's why, I've heard of them but I'm younger than you so maybe yeah, I don't know but they are real and the aren't new themselves don't get me wrong, the conditions have exist..." Meredith tried to explain
"Will you get to the point I hate all your rambling you can't seem to ever manage to stay on one idea" Derek sighed,
"Oh um well yeah about that, Um Dr Hope also did a fellowship in psychology, I also got diagnosed with ADHD that's why my thoughts run off," Meredith explain smiling, she finally had reasons, she wasn't just stupid or annoying or unable to communicate her ideas properly there was a reason.
"Oh great just another excuse for you to be lazy right?" Derek said as he pulled into their driveway.
"No I um.." Meredith tried to reply but couldn't find the works
"What ever doesn't matter I'm going to watch the game make some dinner." Derek said entering the house.
Meredith sighed she was tired and really didn't feel like making dinner but Derek wouldn't do it and he would have had take out last night, she felt her fingers aching. As she looked down she realised her thumb was sitting at a weird angle, she popped it back before checking the rest of her finger they where red and ichy.
At least now she knew she had an answer for why they did that. Now she could start to make changes to help.

Hope you enjoyed, please leave comments and ideas.

I want to say I don't have a diagnosis of PoTS or EDS so if I'm misrepresenting the conditions please let me know and I will adjust.

As for Meredith's Skin Dermagraphia I am basing this on my own experience with the condition so if it doesn't fit with your experience please let me know but also respect everyone is different.
