Till Death Do Us Part

The next morning Arizona woke up before Meredith, she felt bad for the younger women, she didn't even know the full extent of the previous night but the poor girls looked so tired and sad.

Arizona just sat there taking in the quiet before getting up she was off today but didn't really feel like going home to an empty apartment. As she checked the time she noticed it was about 45 minutes until the next intern shift starts, she couldn't remember if Meredith was working today or not,

"Meredith?" She cooed gently hoping the wake the intern
"Meredith honey wake up." Arizona tired again this time successful in waking Meredith

As Meredith woke up the memories from the previous night flooded her mind she wasn't sure how to react, Arizona had been so nice and she'd fought with Derek

"Meredith are you working today?" Arizona asked the still groggy Meredith,

Meredith thought for a moment, crap she was, she had to start getting ready she tried to get up but immediately was hit with a dizzy spell falling back into the bed.

"Meredith are you ok?" Arizona asked jumping to Meredith's side "what happened?" She asked concerned

"Oh um." Meredith froze, she didn't want to tell anyone about her conditions if she didn't need to but Arizona had been so nice last night, and it would be helpful for someone else to know, but if Arizona told Bailey or said something and it affected her internship.
"Meredith?" Arizona promoted looking at Meredith with a look Meredith didn't think she'd ever seen, there was compassion in her eyes,

"Um last night when I told you there was a lot going on, um...well." Meredith sighed, "Derek and I where fighting about accomodations and changes I've made since I got my diagnosis last week, he was yelling at me that I did it for attention and that I'm lazy," Meredith resting her head in her hand,
"Why was that a fight, it's that a good thing? How did it affect Derek anyway? Any changes you made to help with your Skin Dermagraphia wouldn't affect him would they?" Arizona asked, confused.

"Oh um.." Meredith paused it was now or never, she could only hope Arizona was as nice about this as the previous night. "it wasn't for my Skin Dermagraphia it was started because I put extra salt on my pasta to help with my POTs diagnosis, and then he started yelling at me about being lazy because I use a stool at home to help relieve symptoms of my EDS diagnosis, I didn't tell you about those last night, do you know what they mean, I should have told you, but yeah. We were fighting because he said I lazy which I'm not I promise these accomodations just make it easier but I promise I can still work please don't tell anyone.." Meredith explained starting to ramble

"Hey hey it's ok breathe," Arizona cooed calmly, "you don't need to apologise or explain yourself to me, I just want to make sure you're ok." She explained
As Meredith heard that she was relieved, she felt her body become less tense,
"Thank you," Meredith said smiling,
"Why are you thanking me I haven't don't anything?" Arizona asked confused
"You listened, without judgement," Meredith sighed, "no many people do that," she said smiling, the pair sat for a moment just looking at each other before Meredith moved
"Crap what's the time?" She asked frantically looking around the room
"It's 5:40" Arizona answered,
"Crap crap crap, I'm working today! I start in 25 minutes." Meredith said standing up quickly, immediately falling back to the bed as the dizziness hit her again.
"Meredith breath, it's ok." Arizona said, taking Meredith hands in hers, "pause for a moment, your POTs is obviously acting up, and I'm not going to tell you what to do but I think it might be helpful to call in sick, you've had a big night you probably didn't sleep well." Arizona explained gently squeezing Meredith's hand
"No no, I'm fine I can still work," Meredith said frantically looking around the room.
"I know you can work honey, I never doubted that but I don't want you to put your body under more stress it'll only make it worse and if your POTs is acting up that means a higher chance of injury from your EDS, but it's up to you, I'm not working today so I can help you get home if you need." Arizona explained smiling,
Meredith thought for a moment, feeling her head still spinning slightly, Arizona was right she should rest but she didn't want to she didn't want this to impact her internship,
"No it's fine I'll go to work," she said standing up this time making it up without getting too dizzy,
As she looked around the room she realised her scrub pants where still on the floor and Derek's jacket was on the other side of the room, and her clothes from yesterday where folded near the end of her body, she had to grab all of them, the jacket, no the clothes, no the scrub pants, no the clothes, not the jacket, she could feel her mind spinning it felt like she was stuck, the dizziness increasing as she frantically moved between the clothes and the jacket,

Suddenly Meredith felt a pair of soft hands rest on her arms,
"Meredith?" Arizona said gently, "come on sit down," she cooed leading Meredith to sit back on the bed.
As Meredith looked over to Arizona it suddenly all became to much the fight and her flare up last night and her POTs this morning, and being late, she couldn't handle it all it was to much, she burst into tears.
She half expected Arizona to tell her to grow up to stop crying but she didn't instead she felt the older women pull her into an embrace, holding her as she felt her body shake with sobs.
Eventually Meredith's breaths returned to normal and she sat up looking at Arizona
"Thank you," she said quietly looking down at her hands
"No need to thank me Meredith," Arizona cooed, "still going to go to work?" Arizona asked smiling
Meredith looked up for a moment, she was exhausted she hadn't realised how overstimulating the last 12 hours had been.
"No I don't think I will, I'm to overstimulated, and your right my POTs is flaring up," Meredith said smiling, "also..." Meredith said pausing
"Yeah?" Arizona asked gently,
"Just then before I um.. starting crying, I um..." Meredith tried to explain
"Your brain was working faster than your body could react," Arizona said smiling,
"Um yeah kinda, my head was telling me to do too many things at once and I got stuck, it happens sometimes I um.." Meredith started to explain pausing, as she looked at Arizona.
"You have ADHD," Arizona filled in the pause,
Meredith looked at her shocked,
"Yes how did you?" Meredith asked not finishing her question, but Arizona knew what she meant
"I'm a doctor..." Arizona replied "oh and I also have ADHD" she smiled, "it's nothing to be ashamed of,"
