Chapter 16

Ladybug gulped and took a deep breath, seeing Fantôme pinned down. She was stuck. She had to give him the earrings if she didn't want Felix to get hurt. She knew a regular cataclysm wouldn't hurt the cat miraculous holder but... an akumatized cat miraculous holder? She didn't want to risk his safety.

It was just too risky.

Ladybug looked down at her feet and sighed, and walked over to Chat blanc, kneeling down in front of them. Chat blanc tightened his grip on Fantôme, in case of her tricks and she could see he was on edge. She looked up into his glacier eyes, how much hurt and sadness that were encased inside them. She frowned.

"Well? Give them to me Ladybug! Hurry up or this ghost cat is going to be turned into a real ghost!" He snickered.

Ladybug looked down at Fantôme who tensed his eyes at her, mentally telling her not to. She quickly winked at Fantôme, letting him know that she had a plan. Ladybug lifted her hands as if she were going to take off her earrings but instead of going toward her own head, she laid them around Chat blanc's neck, pulling him into a kiss.

Chat blanc was taken aback by her sudden kiss and closed his eyes. Ladybug's eyes reopened and slid both her hands downward, one hand finding his staff and letting it drop into Fantôme's hands. As it dropped, unnoticed, She quickly then unlatched Chat blanc's belt/tail and then kicked him away from both Fantôme and herself. As he was knocked backwards, stunned, he looked up to see them have both his belt and his staff.

"Hey! How did you- Those are mine!" He said angrily.

"Not anymore!" Ladybug smiled.

"Cataclysm!" Chat Fantôme said, holding Chat blanc's staff, watching it turn into dust.

Fantôme didn't see a butterfly fly out and turned to Ladybug. He watched her snap the belt in half and finally the familiar black and purple butterfly escaped from within it. Ladybug pulled out her yo-yo and quickly captured it, releasing Adrien from his akumatization. Chat Fantôme walked over and handed Ladybug his staff with the hook on it.

She looked at it, thinking that maybe she wasn't thinking as clearly as she should have. She let her emotions get in the way. She could have easily used the hook to grab the belt instead of the bell.

Though it didn't matter, right? They won. That's all that mattered. She would just need to get a better grip on her emotions and think clearly around Adrien.

Chat Fantôme saw Ladybug looking at his staff with the hook and laughed to himself. While she was thinking he saw Adrien rubbing his eyes and looking around confused. He walked over to Adrien and kneeled down to him.

"Your mother is fine by the way, she is stabilized." Chat Fantôme said.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" Ladybug said, throwing her lucky charm into the air, returning everything back to normal. She looked over at Adrien and Fantôme, seeing them talking. She decided to keep her distance, to let them talk.

Adrien looked at Chat Fantôme and then to Ladybug. He quickly looked down to his hand that no longer had the ring there. His attention refocused on Fantôme now. Then it clicked.

"You're... Felix... aren't you?" He said.

"How could you tell?" He said, standing up.

Adrien laughed, brushing himself off.

"We do look similar after all, but... of course you would try to outdo me, wouldn't you?" Adrien laughed, standing up beside him.

"Outdo you? I would never." Fantôme smirked.

Adrien hugged him and Fantôme rolled his eyes, but hugged him back regardless. They were met with a huge crash of momentum as they both looked to the left and saw Ladybug hugging them as well, smiling happily.
