Chapter 24

Marinette laid on Adrien's bed on her stomach, kicking her legs in the air as she worked on her homework. She groaned as she left a few questions unanswered but smiled when she saw Tikki help her fill them in. Tikki smiled up at her as Marinette gave her a wink. Though Marinette and Tikki both turned to the door as they heard footsteps coming their way.

Instinctively, Tikki hid as Marinette rushed to the bedroom door. Marinette saw a flash of blonde hair and a wave of happiness flooded over her. She wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly.

"You're home! You never texted me. You had me so worried." Marinette groaned.

"Uh... good evening to you as well, Mari."

Marinette's eyes flew open as she looked up to find Felix, whose face was bright red. She realized she had her arms wrapped around him and quickly let him go. Marinette's face lit up bright red, stepping backward to give them both some space.

"I-I'm sorry Felix. I thought you were Adrien." She apologized.

"I assumed. Anyways... Why were you worried? Is something the matter?"

"Well... I figured he was busy with his mother. I told him to text me how she was but he hasn't given me any updates."

"Updates? Why would he need to give you updates? Has something bad happened?"

"Have you not heard the news? She's awake!" Marinette smiled cheerfully.

"Strange. My mother would have informed me of this information. She also would be up there and she's in the living room. When did he leave?" Felix asked.

"Uh... I think it was around 3:45?" Marinette guessed.

"I was actually coming in here to get him for our scheduled miraculous practice... it was supposed to be a secret from you. I've been texting him since 6:00pm with no answer. He would have texted someone by now." Felix said worriedly.

Marinette's hands started to shake and her eyes started to grow wide with fright.

"Felix... what if... what if Hawkmoth got him?" Marinette said terrified.

"Marinette. You need to remain calm. Adrien wouldn't go easily. He's Chat noir, he would have transformed and fled. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. He could have fallen asleep at the hospital with his mother or something." Felix said, laying his hand on Marinette's shoulder.

"W-what about the hospital not contacting you or your mother then?" Marinette said worried.

"They might not have our contact information. They may only have Adrien's. Come Marinette. Let's go to the hospital and have a look ourselves." Felix smiled.

Marinette looked at Felix for a second and remembered what Adrien had said about Felix. She smiled and hugged him, catching him off guard. Felix didn't know why Marinette was hugging him. It could have been that she was terrified of what could have happened to Adrien. It could be that he comforted her and she was repaying the favor of hugging him. Whatever the reason for her hugging him, he wasn't complaining. She was the only person he liked hugs from. He would hug her anytime. Felix hugged Marinette back, comforting her with a warm smile. Marinette leaned out of the hug and wiped her tears.

"Thank you Felix. Ok... let's go find Adrien." She said, now with a determined face.

"No problem Mari. I'll go get the bodyguard and-"

"Tikki spots on!" Marinette said, transforming.

"Or... not. Am I transforming too?" Felix asked.

"I'm not going to be mad about you two planning a 'miraculous practice' behind my back... but you can pretend that practice is now. Come on. Transform and let's go find him." Ladybug said.
