Hermione never thought of her life without you. Since the day you met on the train on your first day to Hogwarts, she knew that you would always be with her.

And you were, you were with her when she, Ron, and Harry, had gone through the obstacles so Harry could defeat Quirrell/Voldemort.

And again. You were there in second year when she was petrified by the basilisk, you stayed by her side, and you had conversations with her even though you knew she couldn't hear you. It was so bad to the extent that Madam Pomfrey had to charm you to leave.

When Hermione woke she had no idea that you stayed with her in the hospital wing, but she knew that the basilisk and Voldemort were defeated.

In third year you stayed by her side. When Harry and Ron got mad at her- you were by her side. You stayed by her side when she tired herself studying in the library.

You consoled her when she cried herself to sleep, and some nights you didn't even sleep because when you tried to go to your bed she held you tighter so you stayed. Even if your whole body cramped from the position.  You stayed.

You followed her blindly to help save Buckbeak, you knew the risks if you were caught but you didn't care. You just wanted to stay by her side.

So you helped her and Harry save Sirius and Buckbeak, Hermione never asked why you were so persistent on staying with her but she appreciated it.

But it changed in fourth year. She got caught up in her crush on Ron and you couldn't stand it. It was always Ron this or Ron that. So you stopped spending so much time with her.

Instead, you spent time with a Beauxbatons student who seemed to enjoy your company as much as you enjoyed hers: Fleur Delacour.

Hermione noticed your absence after two days. She realized that when she went to the library you weren't waiting for her anymore.

It confused her but she thought nothing of it until the second day when she went to the library and lo and behold there you were with Fleur!

She couldn't believe her eyes, you were sitting where you and Hermione usually sat. Her heart hurt a little bit: this is why you weren't spending time with her? Because you replaced her?

She left the library with angry tears in her eyes..or that's what she told herself. When night came she confronted you asking how could you just forget her.

But you didn't fold, you bit back, reminding her that you weren't the one who abandoned her, you reminded her of the constant praise she gave to the redhead. Completely ignoring you when you were with her.

But still, she didn't fault in her actions so she accused you of being a bad friend for not giving her advice on what to do with her crush.

You ignored her. You left the dorm going to the Beauxbatons ship, of course, you had to sneak in but Fleur welcomed you with open arms. While you fell asleep in her arms Hermione was in the dorm silently crying herself to sleep.
