45. Unmissable opportunity

"So suddenly we got informed that we won and they calculated wrong" I told Chiyeon who's walking beside me home about the unbelievable news that happened at school. But she was acting all weird which I didn't understand why.

The boys wanted to stay longer at school because they have training afterwards to prepare for their match next week. Jun and Mingyu said that they recently signed in in boxing together, it's a bit far from here so they'll be taking Jun's motorcycle.

I looked at Chiyeon who was smiling but isn't giving attention to what I'm saying. "You're good?" She hummed with a nod "How did your presentation go, did you do well" The girl hummed again still smiling but didn't look up at me. I got irritated by her and nudged her shoulder "Hey. Why are you like this? Did Minghao propose to you or what??"

She gave me a 'huh' and stopped in her place. Looked dumbfounded at me then turned her head slowly forward as if she remembered something. We walked for a while then she stopped again "Wanna know a secret?" She wiggled her eyebrows at me which I found funny.

"Yeah why not"

"It's me and Minghao who made you win"

My expression was confused at first then suspicious. I crossed my arms and leaned closer to her "Hah, what problem did you cause this time-"

"I told you WE made you win!" She pushed me back and continued walking. I followed her listening to her bragging about what they did. By time my face changed 100 times in those 5 minutes we walked home.

"What?! You did what??" I stood still in front of the doorsteps.

"I. Said. We snuck into the principal's office and brought the results and changed them with a new edited copy" She went into the house leaving me shocked outside. "Also we put it over all the papers for them to notice, come in why are you standing outside"

I shook my head at the insane behavior of her and her boyfriend. Talking about it I do want to have a week off of school but at the same time I feel like I wouldn't have fun knowing that we won by cheating. Anyway I threw these thoughts outside and walked in "But I'm not seeing you two together lately, did anything happen"

"We broke up" The girl blurted out nonchalantly then walked into the kitchen where my mom is. My brain tried to function properly, getting all the things she said in those 10 or 15 minutes we walked. I took off my shoes and followed her "Hey why?"

When my mom saw me getting into the kitchen for the first time since she came back either to greet her or something else, but she was happy anyway. She washed her hands and hugged Chiyeon who embraced her back. After that she looked at me in hesitation before breaking the hug. The mother walked toward me and gave me a tight hug with a kiss on the forehead. Her hand traveled to my hair stroking it warmly.

As for me, I'm not yet trusting her saying that she wouldn't leave once again but I still can't stay disobeyed and distant from her. If Chiyeon and dad gave her another chance then I should do it too. I wrapped my hands around her and greeted. My heart felt something sticking it then disappearing. I know it's the wound she left on me, if her words are a lie this time then I wouldn't be able to trust her anymore.

I parted with her and gestured to follow me. We went upstairs to my room and closed the door. "So, what did you say earlier?" I put my bag beside the bed table and sat on the bed. Chiyeon sat beside me and giggled.

"We changed the results with fake ones hehe"

"No I mean afterwards"

Chiyeon snuggled to me a little and put her hands on my knees "I broke up with Minghao but I swear-"
