Chapter 4

Breakfast was in the hall again in the morning, both the girls where already sat eating deep in conversation about something. I slide into the seat next to him with my cup of tea and a small bowl of fruit. "Hello stranger." Ivy states as I shoot her a look. "Where did you go yesterday?" She asks as I debate weather to tell the girls about the alien man that I met.

"I went for a adventure." I state as the two of them look at me. "What?" I state as Ivy shoots me a look.

"Your hiding something." She exclaims as I laugh at her slightly, we have only known each other for a few days and already she can read me so well.

"I'm not hiding anything I just haven't gotten to the bit yet." I state as the two girls lean in so they can hear me better, the hall has filled up with women all talking loudly. "Well on my adventure I stopped at a bar that we can go to later and I spoke with the bar man, I told him about not having a mate." I whisper that part not wanting the other women to hear. "And he told me that they might be saving me for someone on their planet, but when I bumped into one of the office men, he told me that I get to pick my mate." I state as Ivy raises her eyebrows.

"How did you meet his office man?" She asks as Beth stares at me in disbelief.

"I was playing his piano in the office when he walked in and we got talking, he is really nice we had a conversation about what we both like and dislike and talked about our planets. And then he walked me home." I sate as Beth smiles at me.

"Do you like him Z!" She asks as a smile creeps onto my face.

"No!" I say laughing as the two girls shoot each other a look of disbelief. The conversation stopped when the teacher walked over towards the table causing us all to panic slightly. We all avoided gaze from her as she stopped at our table her eyes burning on me.

"Z you have been requested to meet with the doctor in bay 1." She states as I raise my eyebrows but before I can ask her any questions she has wandered away.

"What is that about?" Beth asks as I shrug my shoulders.

"No clue only one way to find out." I state standing up from my seat as I wonder towards the direction of the med-bay that I found yesterday. The doctors office was different to the room I had seen yesterday, instead of the health incubator in the middle of the room it had been replaced with a desk where a alien doctor sits a white jacket pulled onto his body. I walk into the room feeling his eyes watching my every move before seating across from him.

"Zahra Davenport correct?" He asks offering me his hand to shake. I take it giving him a firm handshake before sitting back down. "I am Dr Parrington, I requested to see you because I need to test your fertility." He states as I nod my head. We go over the details such as when the last date of my period was, and how often the cycle lasts for before he asks me to climb into the incubator that is tucked in the corner. "For this to be effective you have to remove all clothing, there will be a sharp scratch alright." He states as I nod my head. I remove my clothes, leaving them on the floor as I lay down the incubator. He types a few things into the screen on top of the scanner before pulling the blue curtains around the incubator, giving me some dignity.

The scanner start whirring and a sharp jab goes into my arm drawing blood and placing it into different coloured containers. It takes a while as it fills all the containers up before a red scanner light goes all over my body slowly, after five minutes the scan was complete and the glass lid lifts up allowing me to get out and place my clothes back on. The doctor was waiting at his desk reading the results on his computer as I re take my seat. "The scans and the blood have all come back with readings, you are all healthy tomorrow will be your most fertile day with a 100% concievment rate and therefore insemination will be needed within those days to conceive. This information will be forwarded to your mate." He sates as I nod my head. How is he going to do that when I do not have a mate?
