Chapter 24

Soon our time was cut short as we ride back to the camp "I wish we could stay there forever."

"as do I." He states as we reach the gates of the camp, as we return everyone is busy preparing for something as tools are being sharpened and armour is being stitched togheter. "Back to reality." I state as he nods his head.

"Indeed we are heading for the crown tonight." He states as I stare at him shocked.

"Really." I state as he nods his head.

"They will not expect it." He states, he is pulled away by one of the masters as the men start suiting up with sourds and armour. Beths mate has left the tent and I can see she is begging him not to leave however he brushes her off pulling his armour on his body before climbing onto a horse. Targriss shakes his hand as the other men also climb onto his horse. The servants pull Targriss armour on his body as he grabs his sord mounting his horse once more. I rush over as he bends down, placing a kiss on my lips. "Be safe." I say as I kiss him more deeping the kiss.

They ride out the fleet of men, their horses on full gallop as they ride further away, the gates are shut as the camp falls silent. I can hear beth cries in her tent and I want to comfort her however do not know what to say. They are not garented to return.

ADD TARGRISS POV

The horns ring out as one of the men ride back to the camp. "They have taken the throne, Targriss is king!" Everyone lets out a cheer and I see Beth leave her tent, she looks distressed. "Lady Zahra I have been given strick instructions to take you to the king." He states as I nod my head. Beth rushes over, barefoot and stressed.

"Please if he alive?" She begs as the man stares at her.

"I am afraid Lady Beth the bodies are yet to be located and identified. The king will write you any updates he finds." He states as she whales.

"I do not want updates I want to know if he is alive. I will ride with you." She states as he shakes his head.

"I am afraid the king only called upon Lady Zahra." He sates as she cries.

"She can come with us." I state with a strong voice, He glances at me.

"Very well, Lady Beth gather your horse." He states as we mount our horses heading towards the castle. As we approached I realised that there are bodies everywhere littering the floor, head have been torn of their previous owners and there is a strong smell of blood. The gates are open, and Targriss stands waiting for me. I run unto his arms. "I am glad you are okay." I state as he pulls me into his chest.

"I will be always be fine." He states as Lady Beth walks towards us.

"Is he alive General?" She asks starring at him with tears in his eyes, he pauses for a moment.

"He suffers some injuries." He states as Beth lets the tears roll down her eyes. "But he is alive in bed." He states as she rushes into the house to find him.

"She told me they had an arguement before he left, I do not think she could live with herself if he had died tonight." I state as he nods his head.

"I am glad the gods where looking over him." He states as we enter the castle. There are bodies everywhere and one of the masters had created a sphere with the ruler roughes head on it. I felt bad for all the lives lost today, and it made me feel sick. "Are you alright?" He asks as I go pale.

"I am fine it is just the bodies." I say as he nods his head ordering the servants that have arrived to clean up the mess.

"So what happens now?" I ask as he picks me up with his hands placing me on the throne.

"You are now the Queen of Serenthia."
