"Xav, it seems you're enjoying quite the active sex life," Alisha muttered, her tone laced with mischief. "You've got a hefty supply of condoms stacked in that little drawer," she drawled, a light giggle escaping her lips as she pointed toward the sleek mahogany nightstand beside Xavier's bed. "Making up for lost time?"
Scoffing, Xavier rolled his eyes. "Nothing could top the kinky fetishes you and your husband indulge in for an 'active' sex life." His smirk widened as he watched Alisha clamp her mouth shut and grind her teeth. Leaning in, he slowly pulled the bedroom door closed behind her, murmuring near her ear, "I follow Nawab's gossip columns. Didn't Farhan screw you on his BMW's bonnet and then—"
"Hey, you guys are here!" Samiksha's voice rang out, interrupting Xavier's spicy commentary. She approached them with her wailing daughter on her hip, her exasperation evident. "Deva! Dhriti is driving me insane, and you two are useless as godparents." Peering into Xavier's room, she added, "Have you seen Krishna? I need to hand his daughter over—he's the only one who can calm her down."
Xavier gently took Dhriti from Samiksha's arms and crooned, "What's wrong, my angel?" The little girl immediately quieted, burying her face into his neck. "Oh, Dhriti just wanted to be with her Xavi, huh?"
Samiksha glared at him. "This little monster gave me a mini heart attack, and now she's cozying up to you like butter on toast? Womb is such a wasteful bag; testosterone and bulky muscles are apparently all it takes to parent a girl."
"Don't be silly, my love," Krishna chimed in, appearing out of nowhere and placing a comforting hand on his wife's shoulder. "I've trained our girl well—today's meltdown is a lesson in teaching Xavier about paternal responsibilities."
Alisha pulled a face. "I want to unsubscribe from this prenatal class. I thought this was just an engagement party for my best friend!"
"Fuck off." Krishna mouthed while covering the ears of Samiksha.
Xavier chuckled, adjusting Dhriti on his hip. "Relax, you guys. It's way too early for Krithika to even think about being a mom."
"Some women don't want kids at all, young or not," Alisha muttered under her breath. Samiksha's sharp ears caught it, her brows furrowing as Alisha added, "It's not always about motherhood, you know."
Ignoring Alisha's remarks, Krishna mused aloud, "Nishita was twenty-five when she had Ansh. I don't think that's too young." He chuckled at the memory. "Although she once slapped Bhaiyya hard for bringing the wrong ice cream during her second trimester. The poor guy didn't talk to anyone for a week."
