❝Pioneering the art of constructing love, my Kanmani.❞
Xavier teased her skin, slowly caressing her cheeks and her lips trembled.
❝You don't dare!❞
And he kissed her.

"Darling, you do like to torment me, don't you?" Xavier asked Krithika as he walked her up to the balcony, his left hand firmly placed over the small of her back.
He had organized a mini-gathering to announce to his best friends, and Krithika's friends as well, his clear intention of tying the eternal knot of matrimony with his love.
Yes, an official announcement about their engagement.
It had been too tough for him to fix a date, but eventually, after a month of calling each other names, they had all decided to meet just two weeks after Diwali, after all the leaves.
Xavier had been thankful that it wasn't too late, as he had planned a few things for later, and one month had been just enough time for him to convince Krithika to meet his friends.
Initially, she had scowled, "Why do you want to introduce me to them now?" and he had been flabbergasted by her question. "Kanmani, they are my life, and I intend to share my happiness with them," had been his straight reply, to which she had huffed.
But after the right amount of persuasion, Krithika had said, "Okay. But I will look like a duffer in front of all your mighty friends." He had smiled at her absurd notion.
"Am I being brutal, love?" Krithika wet her lips and cocked her head to glance at his face. "Well, you should have thought twice before deciding on what you wanted from me." She chuckled, running her fingers over his side and heard him mutter a few expletives under his breath. "Cajolery using your lovemaking skills wasn't the right way, Xav."
"Is this some sort of veiled foreplay you prefer?" Gradually gliding his hand over her spine, he leaned close to her and whispered, "I don't know how it is working out for you, Kanmani, but for me, all I want to do is tear off this bloody red dress from your body and sink in so fucking deep that it will make you forget reality." He smirked as she blessed him with a shivering moan. "Or perhaps I'll take it slow, make you sob and beg for more while I eat—"
"Ah, here he comes with his blushing bride!" Alisha exclaimed, causing Krithika to push Xavier away, harder than she had intended to, and he stumbled, his body propelling to the front—almost tumbling face down and kissing the floor.
Almost—as his right knee landed first and he loudly shrieked, wincing in pain.
Farhan snickered. "So, these are the visuals of falling in love?" he dryly added. "Seems very agonizing though."
"FU—"
"Language!" Samiksha yelled as she ran to help Xavier stand.
Xavier stood straight and glared at Farhan. "I hope that your pea-sized brain has accounts of our school days," he hissed. Raking his fingers through his hair, he added, "I have gained a surplus amount of muscle after that; it would be better to keep your tongue in control."
