Riley was getting ready for the past 2 hours with Sloan, Susan and Ava at her side, trying to figure out what to wear. Sloan and Susan argued for 5 minutes trying to decide what dress to put Riley in, when she was off with Ava making her some dinner.
"They're being so loud" Ava whispered to Riley, taking the bowl of mac n cheese she passed her. Riley handed Ava a small fork before she sat down next to her, answering a couple texts that Liam had sent her a few minutes ago.
"Guys this isn't prom," Riley said loud enough for them to hear, getting the yelling between them to subside. "Pick a dress and call it a day"
Riley's bedroom door opened after that, Sloan and Susan walked out of her room, with one of them holding a small cute blue sundress.
"I wanted you to wear the green one" Sloan stressed.
"No I like the one you guys have right now" She said, "What do you think Ava?" Riley asked her. Ava looked over at the dress, but was more interested in the food that she was eating than anything else.
"Beautiful" Ava says, making a chefs kiss hand movement before turning her complete attention back to her food. Riley smiled at her before trading places with an upset Sloan, taking the dress from Susan to change over.
Riley looks at the dress in the mirror, not knowing if it was too much, or too little; but Liam said to dress nicely, so she was. She exited the bathroom and back into the kitchen, seeing that Tristen got home when she was gone. Everyone's eyes go to her when she exits her room.
"Oh he's not going to be able to take his eyes off of you" Susan said. Tristen didn't say anything, he just nodded, agreeing with Susan and walked in the other room.
"You don't think it's too much?" Riley said, "I feel like my boobs are going to fall out of this" she laughed, feeling how loose the straps were on her.
"I'll just tighten the straps but you'll be good" Susan said walking over to her, "Are you excited" she asked Riley, taking a step away from her when she was done fixing the dress.
"I really just don't want to get my hopes up again" Riley said walking over to Ava who had her arms open for Riley to hold her. Ava was placed against Riley's hip and laid her hand on her shoulder, holding onto her older sister that she rarely saw anymore like she was going to lose her at any given second.
"He seemed really nice Rye" Susan said to her, "I wouldn't be scared with him"
"I don't think it's him she's scared of when Riley's the one that fucks up all of her relationships" Sloan said rolling her eyes, still pissed off about the dress.
"Fuck you and fix your attitude" Riley told her, somewhat hurt by her blatant honesty. But it was a mixture with something else, she knew with Max that she was the one who messed up, but with Logan, she felt like she wasn't enough at the end of the day, and Arthur, even though she should've known it wasn't going anywhere, made her feel exactly the same.
Tristen joined them in the kitchen once more, taking Ava from Riley when her arms reached out for him instead.
"You look good Rye" he finally spoke up, "Remember if he turns out being a weirdo, knee him in the nutz then call me to pick you up"
"I'll be fine" She said, hearing the buzzer go off by the door. Riley raced Susan over to it, pushing her away before pressing the button, "Come up" she told Liam, buzzing him in then turning to everyone in the room.
"Okay, into Tristen's room" Riley points in that direction, hearing loud groans from everyone while they started walking away.
"But I didn't even get to meet him" Sloan said growing upset while Riley was pushing them out of the kitchen. "Susan got to meet him!" She stressed.
