MINA POV
When it comes to Hyunjin I can already say he's the one I love. I've liked him for at least three years but I never got a chance to tell him my feelings. We started off as friends and I felt things would change if I told him how I felt so I didn't say anything.
Plus, I liked watching him from the sidelines. I'm not the most talkative person so I could never really be upfront to him.
Maybe if I knew he would be gone like this I would have told him. But I was never really the type of person to confess my feelings, no matter the situation.
So even when he was talking with Karina or any other girls, I did nothing. I acted in no way. I prefer to be in love than with him and never have him than to tell him how I feel and see him with someone else.
I guess it's more of the same but it's different to me.
I just miss him so much. I'd do anything to see him again.
My thoughts drift away as I get a phone call from an unknown number. I'm guessing it's Minnie, she said she was forced to do many things by Karina and I guess deleting her number was one of them.
I think she has a new one now, it's probably secret.
"Hello?" "Mina!" I hear numerous pants from the other line. "It's Karina...she wants me to kill you."
I drop my phone in shock. My hearts starts racing.
Kill me?
"..." "I would never do that to you, I CAN never to that to you..." I hear birds and crackings of twigs.
"So let's fake it."
Fake death? I could never. That's illegal in...maybe all countries all over the world!
"What you're suggesting is crazy!" I tell her. "I know. But would you rather she does it herself? If she wanted to, you know she would."
At the end of the day, Minnie's right. If Karina can kidnap Hyunjin she could also go to extreme lengths to hurt me too.
"This is horrible to ask, I know. So you have to tell all the members. We need everyone to make this work."
She says those words in between breaths and it gets harder to concentrate as I wonder what she's doing.
"Where are you?" I ask her. "I'm in some sort of forest." She answers.
"So here's the plan..."
Mine starts speaking detailed and clearly but I can't even concentrate. My mind just keeps drifting to Hyunjin. Is he okay? What is he doing?
I still remember the days we took our late night walks together. He spoke endlessly about his favorite things as I listened carefully. Why can't I just go back in time?
Why can't I be on a sidewalk with him again?
FLASHBACK TO LATE NIGHT WALK WITH HYUNJIN
"And I think my favorite colors are black and white. Oh, and my favorite season is autumn!" He tells me with a cheeky smile.
"Also, more of my favorite things are having these walks with you!" He looks at me and smiles faintly waiting for my reaction.
I blush softly and I want to answer him but can't. My stomach is churning and I feel hot everywhere.
"I like walking with you too." I manage to answer. He chuckles.
"Why the long reply?" Hyunjin asks me. "I'm not sure, haha!"
Way to go, Mina! I couldn't be more embarrassed.
"You know...you're a really good listener." He says to me. He looks at his surroundings as he tries not to look at me.
"I don't think that's the case, Hyunjin," I start. "I think I just like listening to you talk."
"Uh, I-" He stutters over and over as he blushes loudly.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to..." "No! it's fine."
We walk in silence for a few seconds.
"The sky is really pretty, don't you think?" He asks me gently.
I nod.
"Yes...it is."
I fiddle with my fingers as I try to make more conversation with him.
"Hyunjin-" "Mina-"
We both cut each other in our sentences as we want to say something to each other.
"Sorry, you can go first!" I say. "Are you sure?"
I indicate yes by shaking my head horizontally.
"I think I really like-" "HYUNJIN!!"
Suddenly Jisungs catches up to us from behind. He gives Hyunjin a big hug from the side grabbing his arm.
"Jisung??" Hyunjin says confusedly. "Oops, hope I'm not butting in or anything." He says.
He shakes his head.
"Not really." He answers to him with an annoyed look.
I can't help but think of what Hyunjin was going to say. If only Jisung hadn't barged in the way he did.
"What are you doing?" Jisung asks Hyunjin. "What do you think?"
Silence lingers as Jisung looks at me.
"Ohhh....OH! UM...MY BAD!!"
END OF FLASHBACK
"Mina! Are you listening? Mina?" I hear from the other line.
"Oh sorry." I say, in a trance.
"What were you saying?"
She sighs from the other line making me feel bad.
"Look, all you have to do is meet me in the forest I'm currently in. I'll pretend to have killed you and report to Karina. From there, we'll figure something out." She explains.
"Oh, okay! What forest are you in?" I ask her.
"Evergreen." She answers.
I put on a hoodie and quickly walk to put some sneakers too.
"GUYS!" I yell. All the members rush to see me.
"I have to go out. I'll explain everything later. If you get a call, answer it. Keep your phones on too!" I tell them.
They nod understandingly and later on I wave goodbye.
"See you soon." I say.
I walk out my door and start walking to a forest I haven't quite been or heard of.
As I walk my legs walk I start to get tired.
Keeping going, Mina. I think to myself.
Before I know it I'm there and I see Minnie pacing around a tree.
Is this really how it's going to go? These are such extreme lengths...
All because of Karina. But it's worth it. To save Hyunjin.
I really hate this stupid thing called love.
