MINA POV
FLASHBACK AT MAMA AWARDS 6 WEEKS BEFORE HYUNJIN'S LEAVE AT VERSACE.
"Mina!" Minnie yelled from far. She came to hug me as I was in the lobby with awards from my group. "I'm so proud of you." She tells me.
I chuckle. "Thank you!" I say with a big smile. "I also can't believe Soyeon dissed the MAMA awards." I tell her.
She laughs. "That's our girl."
Suddenly, the door opens from behind us and Karina from Aespa walks in.
"Hey girl!" Minnie says while waving. I'm not really close with Karina so I say hi shyly and wave at her.
"What's up?" Karina asks. Minnie shrugs while I show Karina the award in my hands. "Wow...so shiny. I can't wait till we get one too!" She tells me brightly.
We sit down on chairs and chat for a bit before we have to go back out there.
"So, how is it going with your man?" Minnie asks Karina with a smirk. Karina smiles happily.
"We're basically in love." She says. "Oh yeah?" I say. She nods.
"We went on a date after our TikTok vid the other day and ever since we can't be separated." She tells us.
I find this a bit odd because when Hyunjin has a crush he rants about that person all the time but he never mentioned her. Maybe he's just keeping it under wraps but even then, it doesn't sound like him. I probably shouldn't think about it too much.
"Wow. So what's the next step?" Minnie asks. Karina shrugs and pouts. "I don't know...first I'd have to get him to answer my messages." She says the last part under her breath so Minnie didn't hear. But I did.
What does she mean by that?
BACK TO PRESENT March 7th
"Say yes." Jihyo tells me, indicating I should tell Karina that I'm free to hang out with her.
I'm so nervous. What if it really is her? What if I get kidnapped too? Suddenly, Jihyo holds my hand and smiles faintly giving me a reassuring smile.
After that, I hesitate but I'm a little more confident. I take a deep breath.
"Sure." I answer. "Great! I live at [adress]. Be here in...5 minutes?" "Yeah." I hang up and put my phone down.
I'm not so sure about this. If this is how I acted when we're on the phone then how will I manage to speak to her?
"Why did she call you?" Jeongin asks. "She wants to meet up." Just then Chaeyoung lets out the biggest gasp.
"Why?" She asks. I shrug. "I don't know." I answer. Jihyo massages her forehead.
