22 : Is this the end?

HYUNJIN POV

Imagine waking up and seeing the one you love tied to a chair in an abandoned warehouse. What are your first words exactly?

I'm not even sure what happened. I closed my eyes for a second and when I opened them I saw the love of my life crying and begging for help.

She's nothing but scared. She jitters as cold air brushes on her hair.

I'm sure she tried to find me and things went sideways. I got her into this mess and I can't get her out.

What is there to do when you're locked and tied in a room no where to be found? My best friend betrayed me and I got kidnapped.

Kidnapped, for all I care! It's all just sinking in now as the woman I love is suffering because of me. I didn't really care about my safety before but I can't see her like this.

I look at her blankly and shocked as she tries to break loose.

Her mouth is covered with a disgusting towel and it seems that she has a wound on her leg.

"Mina..." I mutter helplessly. She turns towards me quickly, I don't think she noticed I was awake.

Her eyes sadden and she stops moving.

"Hyunjin!" She cries. I see tears fall from her face and never stopping. She lets go from struggling and looks at me, all still while crying.

"Hyun...jin..." she muffles from the towel.
"Mina."
"Hyunjin."

She jitters trying to get at least her hand out to me. I do the same.

I use all the strength in me left to try and break loose.

"Hyunjin!" She cries out.
"Mina, I'm here." I answer.

I push my hands away even harder trying to break loose from the ropes around them. Then, I heard a snap.

Finally, one of my hands is free. I reach to her and pull away the towel from her mouth. She pants aggressively as she finally gets enough air.

I push the chair I'm stuck with towards her and cup her cheeks.

"I'm here." I say, while gently brushing her hair. She looks at me in my eyes and it reminds me of the time I ached for her gaze.

No matter what happens, even in this situation, her stare is forever beautiful.

I hold her hands even if they're tied. They're rested on her lap as she calms down.

"I'm sorry I got you into this mess." I tell her. She shakes her head with a few tears going down.

"You didn't do anything. I chose this. And I'm glad I did."

She's glad? But she seems so...

"I'm scared. That's true. But everything feels better when I'm with you."

Why did she do this for me? All this trouble. She put herself in danger to save me and I'm not even sure what to say.

"I...love you." I say without thinking.
In this moment, I didn't even care about us being taken and held away. I didn't care about Karina or Changbin.

All I can see is her. It doesn't matter if she doesn't like me back. I just don't want to be stuck here forever in Karina's hold without telling her how I feel.

"You're my everything." I finally say.

She looks at me in the eyes and starts crying.

"Hey, hey don't cry. It's okay if you don't love me." I try to reassure her.

"No, it's not that. I love you too." She admits.
She cries even louder now, her eyes turn red as i wipe the tears away for her.

"I love you, that's why I did this for you." She says.
I start to cry at those words.

To think someone would go this far just for me...

I wish I could hug her right now. Hug her and tell her it will be okay.

I notice that Mina managed to get her hand out of the ropes she was in.

She lends it out to me as far as she can and I hold it.
I hold it tight. I hold her soft hand as if there's no tomorrow and it reminds me of when we first did.

Back then, we might've been friends but now we're more than that.

Never in my life did I think I would be holding hands with Mina in room of an abandoned warehouse.

This is two weeks taken away from me but I'm finally found.

We hold hands in silence for a while.
"Karina's crazy isn't she?" I joke. Mina lets a slight chuckle.

"Yeah." She answers quickly.
"How long do you think we'll be here?" She asks me.
I shrug lightly.

"I didn't get the chance to call everyone else. They probably won't come looking for us." She adds.

My heart drops. Has Karina finally won? Is this the end for us?

I squeeze her palm.

"That's too bad." I respond. She looks at me with a confused face.

"I guess it could be worse. Maybe if she added a TV, a mini fridge and ACTUAL comfortable chairs we could make this work."

I hope to get a smile from her.

She laughs, this time louder than before.

"It's so weird how you're still making jokes like this." She tells me.

"Nothings weird if I do it for you." I say.

She smiles and her mood changes. She looks at the locked door in front of us and tilts her head.

"Hyunjin, is this the end?" She asks me.

I'm a bit confused.

"I wonder what happened to Karina. Why she acts the way she does..."

I nod agreeably.

"Who cares about Karina? What matters is that we're safe." I explain.

She lets her hand go and looks at me seriously.

"Safe for how long? Hyunjin, we're are tied to chairs in a location that no one knows about! I didn't succeed in sending a message to the members and if they don't come then..."

"We're done." I finish her sentence for her.

"Yeah, we're alone here. Who knows what Karina will do to us? But can you just trust that no matter what happens I'll protect you?"

She looks away from me which indicates she doesn't believe me.

"We have to find a way out-"
"You're hurt! You got shot, Mina geez. Chances are, walking would be difficult for you."

"But we have to try!"
"I HAVE TRIED." I snap at her.

I didn't meant to yell.

"It's just...I've been stuck here for two weeks. Two weeks, Mina! I've tried cutting through this ropes but Karina just renews them! I've tried opening that door, she just puts more protection." I explain.

"There is no getting out once you're in here. This IS the end." I tell her.

"I've already given up. Can you just give up with me so it's easier?" I ask sincerely.

She huffs and looks at the floor.

"I don't even recognize you."
"Yeah well getting kidnapped will change a person." I answer.

I sigh.
I wish it wasn't like this but what else is there to do?
